Does The Avatar Game Live Up to the Hype?

By now, most of us has watched The Avatar Movie and would like to continue the experience with the movie themed based The Avatar Game. But the key question is... is The Avatar Movie Game worth it?

Help you, I can, yes. (In Yoda's voice)...

Sorry... wrong movie... :)

Seriously, in my opinion - there are two reasons why you should get this game. The first of course is if you are a memorabilia collector then The Avatar Game is something you definitely want to get because it is the first computer game that was based on the theme of The Avatar Movie.

The other reason to get it is because it is a theme based computer game that does have gorgeous visuals and background graphics. Young children may love playing this Avatar video game but keep in mind that this is still a action and adventure game! So it is up to the parent to determine the appropriateness of The Avatar Game with the maturity and age of their children.

If the above two reason do NOT apply to you, then you are better off choosing another video game, which I will talk about below... but keep reading to decide for yourself whether or not James Cameron's Avatar the Game is for you.

No matter what other thinks about the game play of Avatar the game... I still remember the Pac Man craze when I was a very young kid. Truth be told... most of us are spoiled rotten, because we have no frame of reference...

The Avatar Movie by James Cameron Review

If you haven't seen The Avatar Movie yet... boy, you are in for one of the best treats of your life! James Cameron literally poured his soul into the making of this movie that was release in December of 2009. You can't walk away without being impressed with the special effects and wonderful but impossible exotic scenery of Pandora.

He also poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the movie too... but that is besides the point... heh!

And don't forget to check out The Avatar Movie Toys for children as well as collectors too...

Why is Avatar the Game a Flop?

Avatar the computer gameWell, that depends on the state of your mind... of course! :)

But really, one of the BEST theories I heard is this... you see, when The Avatar movie was being produced... the powers that be decided to commercialize the heck out of the movie. Which is just about par for the course...

As a result of this decision, the owners of The Avatar Movie licensed the right to make the The Avatar Video Game based on the theme of the movie. Which is a lot of money. Obisoft, a major computer game maker won the bid. And they rushed out to develop the game and put out almost a month BEFORE the movie came out in December 18th, 2009.

As a result, Obisoft cut a few corners. First, the license to develop the game must have been a HUGE ransom payment... which left less money for the talent to develop the actual action...

Now don't get me wrong here... the background scenery and visuals are breathtaking and gorgeous! But the actual game play will disappoint the hard core game players. And the story line is a little bare... but heck, you probably know enough by watching the movie and using your imagination to fill in the blanks.
