Alternative Methods as the Best Cure For Addiction

Are you looking for a better way to overcome your addiction and find that conventional methods are not working? Do you remember what it felt like to be in control of your life; happy, healthy and stable. Maybe you are a concerned loved one who has seen someone go through a downward spiral; wandering like a lost soul  and losing touch with everything around them. You will be surprised to discover that there are better ways to treat addiction, alternative methods  that have proven to be very successful . The health system is not setup in a way where people can overcome their addiictions naturally. In my experience as an intake counsellor, I have seen many people come and go out of the treatment centre. The success rate for recovery was about 5%. They really wanted to try and beat their habit, regain back the trust of their loved ones, and restore their health and mental functioning.   What if you could beat addiction in a safe and natural way. Drop The Addiction will show you how addiction can be overcome permanently and naturally.

The Best Cure For Addiction Does Not Include A Substitute Drug

Heroin and the Methadone Treatment Program

Methadone was developed in Germany in 1937. It has been the primary form of treatment for opiate dependence. Methadone is a synthetic form of opiod that acts much like heroin in that it inhibits the opioid receptors in the brain. Heroin is designed to release an abundance of dopamine in the system that creates an eurphoric experience whereas methodone blocks the "eurphoric high" and is designed to reduce the withdrawl systems associated with heroin. Drop The Addiction looks at addiction as a problem that can be ""cured" not "treated"with a substitute drug replacement. Methadone treatment can be viewed as leading people from one addiction to another when what people really need is a realistic opportunity for recovery.

The intention for Methadone to help people reduce the negative behaviours of a heroin using lifestyle is acknowledged, however the majority of substance abusers have the desire to free themselves from drugs completely. Methadone treatment has unfortunately for most substance abusers become a long-term substitute more difficult to beat than heroin itself.

I found your article was wonderful! I myself just wrote a lens on the benefits of methadone maintenance, which I used for the first 1 1/2 years of my sobriety. However, I don't believe that it is the right choice for everyone. I know that there are people who use it as a crutch, as a way to make money instead of taking it. I also am firm in my belief that methadone should be a stepping stone to COMPLETE sobriety, and not a lifelong habit. Methadone saved my life, but there is absolutely NO reason why people should have to remain on it for life. That is not 'clean and sober'. I, myself, didn't feel in my heart that I was sober when I was on it, but like I said, I also needed it to get over that 6 month hump that always brought on a relapse. Today I am 100% 'CLEAN AND SOBER', ...Thank heavens, because I was living a pitiful life before.

    Methadone isn't a cure - it's a problem in it's own right.
