The Best Tips of Making Red Wine
The First Steps in Making Red Wine
The first steps in making red wine would be to put the grapes into a crusher. The crusher will basically crush the grapes in order to extract the juice. Based on the type of red wine that you are preparing the stalks in the grapes will be either used or it will be discarded. Once this is done, the grapes in there crushed state can be now put in for the fermentation process. The fermentation process is typically the lengthiest process in making red wine as in could take several weeks. If the temperature at which red wine is made is high then the wine would typically have an intensified color. If the flavor of the red wine is to be soft then the fermentation process which is one of the most important steps, is allowed to be performed in sealed vats. This is sometimes preferred because in sealed vats the carbon dioxide present will speed the overall fermentation process, reducing the duration to several days from weeks. One thing to note here is that the color of the red wine and the tannin that is present in the wine depends on the duration of the fermentation process. To get a better flavor and color a longer duration of fermentation is required.

Tannic and The Fermentation Process
The rest of the bulk that is available is processed to form a tannic wine. Sometimes the tannic wine is added with the original red wine in order to intensify the flavor and color. Once the two wines are combined there are again put in for the fermentation process. This fermentation process will be even longer than the first fermentation process as this is the period during which the original flavor and color of the red wine is brought out.In general all the common types of red wine would spend at least a year in the barrels. Special blends may spend much more of a time in the barrels. Sometimes red wine is fine tuned with the egg whites as they will pull down any solid extraneous materials even before the filtration process. Once the filtration process is done bottling of the wine is done. Some blends of red wine are not sold off even after bottling as they are allowed to be stored in bottles for some period of time.
Allowing the red wine spend some time in the bottled state is also an important stage as it allows the wine to get fermented to its perfect state. The more special blend of wine are allowed to be bottled for several years while the simpler and less expensive wines don't spend much of a time being bottled.
