The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry: Online Memorabilia Ark

Connecting to the Past

You never stop learning. In fact, the only time we should stop, is when we're six feet under. As a child my mother ignited my passion in history. As a fan of the Indiana Jones and National Treasure movies, I think it is wonderful to see an individual follow their passion and love. When historians discover links to the past, their passion is rewarded. If you a sports fan and have a passion for history, links to the past include old ticket stubs; The result is a cross between an archaeologist and a collector of sports memorabilia. As a sports memorabilia collector the purpose of this site is to provide visitors with a connection to the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry".

Why Create This Site?

I love college football and history. So I have decided to write about the things I love. College football creates some great rivalries and 'The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry' is one of them . The purpose of this site is to provide the reader with a history of the rivalry and to be a source reference for sports historians on information pertaining to on the Auburn-Georgia rivalry on the web.

Wikipedia is BORING, Squidoo is FUN

My interest to build this site started with a GOOGLE search on 'The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry'. The only link I could find on the rivalry was on Wikipedia but I felt the site failed to create a connection to the fan or sports historian, like myself. I need to see photos, video clips and unique information on specific games to paint a picture and tell the story. The tools SQUIDOO has allows me to attempt to improve on the information presented on Wikipedia. I have a second site on the rivalry. Please come and visit.

I absolutely love this site. It's a great piece of history for fans of both teams. It is truly the south's if not the nation's greatest rivalry. Go Dawgs !

Very cool. Class of 82 and I've never been to the UGA game! We were terrible when I was in school (Barfield and Dye's first season was my last) and since then it's just such an expensive game to go to. Great site!

How cool is it that Vince Dooley went to Auburn and Pat Dye went to Georgia!! Great Page!!

Lots of work went into this lens. Too bad I do not really love either school. Roll Tide.

Will search my boxes for stubs.
