The General Lee

The General Lee car may likely be one of the most famous television cars of all time. People with pride in the south loved the rebel flag background on the roof. Not to mention Bo and Luke Duke were the epitome of easy on the eyes country boys. Young girls across America would flock to their TV sets in droves to see the dimpled duo take on Rosco and Flash in several heated chase scenes. Boys dug Daisy in her signature "Daisy Dukes," nylons, and high heels. She could ride with the best of the boys on the show!

For replicas, the General Lee car may very well be the one vehicle that appears over and over again in car shows, body shops, and even in backyard mechanic shops across the country. Men and even some women have went out of their way across the nation to duplicate the ostentatiously orange overdrive auto. John Schneider himself has taken to the idea of selling his replica of it on EBay for $10 million. Some would argue it doesn't seem right that he's selling off his car, kind of like a cowboy selling off his horse. But, $10 million is hard to turn down even for nostalgia.

People come from miles around to see the beloved car and items of interest from the show in his museum. The car may well be more famous than any other to hit TV or silver screen during the 20th century.

Even if you don't want a full scale model, but you love the General Lee car there are other options. There are many models of various sizes at hobby stores and on the Internet. Alot of the die cast models can either be painted or they can be purchased pre-painted. Then, there's always the idea of seeking out memorabilia such as lunch boxes, big wheels, and toys from the era that bear the resemblance of the 1980's icon of american autos.
