About Me

Hi there! Welcome to my profile page! I use this page to provide a much more detailed profile than is offered by many social networks, blogs, or forums. Hopefully it will give you some insight into why I am such an interesting guy!

I joined Elite Financial Communications Group, LLC in January of 2007 as a member of the firm's Market Relations group. I have since joined the Elite Media Group as a Director, interacting with our clients and the media on a daily basis.

As you will find out in greater detail below, I can be pretty eccentric about a variety of topics near and dear to my heart. I am a fount of useless knowledge and can probably answer any question you ask me as long as it doesn't relate to sports trivia. So read on and find out more!

I personally believe in the unique and compelling stories of each of our clients, but wish to disclose that Elite Financial is compensated monetarily for our services by our clients, which includes managing their brand identity on various social networks. All compensation that we receive for these efforts is disclosed at www.efcg.net . As such, I will occasionally share information about our clients with you; however, I promise to be a responsible social media citizen and will not spam you. For every post about our clients that I find important enough to share with you, I will endeavor to make multiple posts about other items of interest to those of you in my network. All opinions I share are solely my own and do not necessarily represent the opinions of Elite Financial Communications Group, LLC, my team or our clients, and I cannot guarantee the accuracy of any news or information I share that is not related to Elite's clients.

Quotes to Live By

Some great quotes from some great people.

"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there - on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

- Carl Sagan commenting on the "Pale Blue Dot": a photograph of planet Earth taken in 1990 by Voyager 1 from a record distance, showing it against the vastness of space.

"The best friend of earth or man is the tree. When we use the tree respectfully and economically, we have one of the greatest resources on the earth."
- Frank Lloyd Wright

"Ah yes, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness... Life? What 'right' to life has a man who is drowning in the Pacific? The ocean will not hearken to his cries. What 'right' to life has a man who must die to save his children? If he chooses to save his own life, does he do so as a matter of 'right'? If two men are starving and cannibalism is the only alternative to death, which man's right is 'unalienable'? And is it 'right'? As to liberty, the heroes who signed the great document pledged themselves to buy liberty with their lives. Liberty is never unalienable; it must be redeemed regularly with the blood of patriots or it always vanishes. Of all the so-called natural human rights that have ever been invented, liberty is least likely to be cheap and is never free of cost. The third 'right'?-the 'pursuit of happiness'? It is indeed unalienable but it is not a right; it is simply a universal condition which tyrants cannot take away nor patriots restore. Cast me into a dungeon, burn me at the stake, crown me king of kings, I can 'pursue happiness' as long as my brain lives-but neither gods nor saints, wise men nor subtle drugs, can insure that I will catch it."
- Lt. Col. Jean V. Dubois, on his statement that "a human being has no natural rights of any nature."

"Here is the thing you must bear in mind. I do not represent public opinion; I represent the public. There is a wide difference between the two, between the real interests of the public and the public's opinion of those interests. I must represent not the excited opinion [of some], but the real interests of the whole people."
-Theodore Roosevelt, 1906 interview with Ray Stannard Baker regarding public outrage over industry collusion in setting railroad shipping rates.

"Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago."
- Warren Buffett

"Conservation means development as much as it does protection. I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use the natural resources of our land but I do not recognize the right to waste them, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us. I ask nothing of the nation except that it so behave as each farmer here behaves with reference to his own children. That farmer is a poor creature who skins the land and leaves it worthless to his children. The farmer is a good farmer who, having enabled the land to support himself and to provide for the education of his children, leaves it to them a little better than he found it himself. I believe the same thing of a nation.

Moreover, I believe that the natural resources must be used for the benefit of all our people, and not monopolized for the benefit of the few, and here again is another case in which I am accused of taking a revolutionary attitude. People forget now that one hundred years ago there were public men of good character who advocated the nation selling its public lands in great quantities, so that the nation could get the most money out of it, and giving it to the men who could cultivate it for their own uses. We took the proper democratic ground that the land should be granted in small sections to the men who were actually to till it and live on it. Now, with the water-power, with the forests, with the mines, we are brought face to face with the fact that there are many people who will go with us in conserving the resources only if they are to be allowed to exploit them for their benefit. That is the one of the fundamental reasons why the special interests should be driven out of politics."

-Theodore Roosevelt, Osawatomie, Kansas, August 31, 1910
