The Keyword Academy

Hello Folks:

I started my keywords and how to rank for them research about a half year ago. Since then I moved into getting my blog ranked for "targeted traffic" and it's "nested" keyword and it's cousins. That project started in ernest in December after I wrote a post on Targted Traffic and it quickly move to Page Rank 3 and it started showing up for a lot of my targeted keywords.

I'm sure there are a lot of ways to generate traffic, but no one method appealed to my common sense and internal brain GPS quite like Search Engine Marketing did.

Using what I got from The keyword Academy I got the marketing method known as One Week Marketing and, in a short while, I has Squidoo sites up and running, and occasionally making a sale.

For quite some time now I have been writing about my experiences with SEO/SEM and, in those articles I try to pass on the tips I can to help others find their way.

Here's the way anyone can rank for a certain keywords at the top of Google. Why do you want to do that? Traffic! Targeted traffic! If a person types into google.

If the person types in "rain umbrellas" and you have a good offer for rain umbrellas you want them to find you at the top of Google organics listings...FREE! Free targeted traffic ...it doesn't get any better.

So, here's the plan. You have picked a keyword. Now you set out to get put at the top of Google page one for that term.

First - Put the keyword in your domain name! Or, at least do it this way...http://yourdomainname.com/keyword

Second - Put a bunch of relevant content on your page with the keyword in it several times but not over 1%.

Third - Now that you have that page up write an article describing the benefits of that offer on that page while using your "keyword" in the Title and Body of the article.

Fourth - This is the "coup de gras" as the French like to put it or "the biggie" as Americans are fond of saying. You write an authors resource box that asks the reader to click back to your offer for more information and the clickback hyperlinks have to look just like this example...

"For the best in [rain umbrellas] selection and accessories got to my page on [rain unmbrella] (I use the plural and singular) and NOW you have what Google wants to see.

Ranking for a keyword is largely a popularity contest. The more "rain umbrella" text links pointing to your "rain umbrella" page that has your "rain umbrella" offer on it, the higher goes your ranking. One day you'll write that last article who's text link pushes you to the top.

Curing Panic Attacks  and  Make Money Online

Hello Again Folks:

2 years ago I started a blog in which I detailed my progress from a newbie to a fellow who knew a few things and was starting to make some money online.

But I was doing it the hard way. Really. I spent thousands on tutorials and, actually, I learned a lot! But I wasn't making any money.

Then I ran across The Keyword Academy.

I read their Keyword Crash Course and I was off and running.

I picked some keywords I thought I could rank for. (Get on page one at Google)

I bought a domain name similar to my keywords.

I started a Wordpress blog.

I started filling my Wordpress blog with articles and links to offers that were pertinent to my keywords.

Google saw that as relevant and started bringing me traffic. Some of that traffic bought.

Now I am looking at two things.

1. I am looking at ways I can structure my site so that my sales will increase. Think of it as trying to go from 1 in a hundred visitors "convert" and buys to 2 in a hundred. It sort of sounds doable doesn't it! Yet that one thing would DOUBLE sales!

2. I am looking for more keywords to rank for that are relevant to my site so that I can get more traffic.

Theoretically, if you double your traffic you have the potential to DOUBLE your sales.

That's if you are NOT bringing visitors who are interested in horses to a site selling acne cures.

And that is the beauty of keywords. When people type in a specific keyword they are essentially sorting themselves into market segments for you to take advantage of!

I mean, wouldn't you LOVE IT if you had a site selling acne cures and you also had it arranged so that your site came up on Google Page One near or at the top for "Good Acne Cures".

It's plain to see.

So remember...1. This traffic costs you nothing. 2. This traffic is coming after your keyword. 3. This traffic is much more likely to buy than any other traffic.

THAT"S the kind of traffic you want and this is the way to get it.

When I was first getting into the whole Internet Marketing thing I was sort of put off by the idea of keywords.

And ESPECIALLY by the idea of "Keyword Research!" Yawn!

I didn't "get it".

Now I do. Turns out it can be very interesting, but only if you have a horse in the race.

When a person types into google a "search query" (googlespeak) they have identified themselves as "in that market".

Here's a simple, and very common, example...

The person types in "acne cures". I'd say he either HAS acne issues or is closely related to someone who is!

To a marketer that says he/she (from now on just "he" for simplicity) might be in the market for (wants to acquire) a "Cure for Acne".

A Search Engine Marketer puts a good offer for an acne cure on a website, and today more commonly on a blog, and puts good information on the pages that directly relate to Acne problems.

In your keyword research (thinking about keywords and writing things down you might find that "quick acne cure" is a good keyword to optimize for and that "free acne cure" is a good keyword to NOT optimize for.

You want your offer to pop up on page one of Google search results for the keyword "Quick acne cure". When it does pop up the searcher is likely to click on your url link and see your offer!

Furthermore, that searcher is much more likely to buy than the average random visitor.

So that's it.

Find an offer. Build a website/blog for it. Optimize for good keywords. Generate relevant traffic (targeted traffic) to your offer. A certain percentage of visitors will buy your offer.
