Dodging Bullets

Many of us have seen the movie the Matrix. It is a cool movie starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne. I see a symbolism or analogy that this movie speaks of such as in the thought of dodging bullets.

When Neo dodges bullets I see it as a spiritual metaphor of
how we dodge or don't dodge fear in our own lives. The bullets
represent fear. Fear can be any negative way of being such as hate,
fear, resentment, anger, mean spiritedness.

In the Matrix he could not dodge the "bullets" at first. He did not remember
who he was or his light or magnificence. As time went by however he got better and better at dodging "bullets" until at the end they or fear could not penetrate him or affect him anymore.

Why? Because he remembered who he was.

The analogy is that when we remember who we are we too will no longer
have to dodge "bullets" or "fear". It will simply cease to affect us as we stand in a place of love or light.

The Matrix

In the movie the main players went into a world that was false or fake, yet
the people existing there had no idea that the illusion was not real.
The analogy I have for that is an idea that some might not accept, but I see
this human experience we are having as the same way they were in the Matrix.
Many walk around asleep and unaware of anything but the material world much like
most in the Matix did. I see our world as an illusion, a place to experience and learn.

Many spriritual teachers believe this world is an illusion, that we are spiritual beings
having a human experience. I agree with that idea.

The Oracle

She to me is representative of our own inner knowing, our intuition, our inner voice, that gut feeling that warns you. The oracle represents these things at a much more developed level so that she could "see" things.

Agent Smith

He to me represents those that are difficult in our lives or our teachers as they teach in
spiritual thought. Our teachers are not usually pleasant yet they help us to further our growth
more than the softer easier people in our lives. As you can see in the movie, it was Mr. Smith
and his strength, his opposition that helped Neo remember who he was. We all are "the chosen one" in
our own lives. We all have the "agent smith" in our lives.

Morpheus

I see Morpheus as the spiritual leader or teacher, the one who will guide us to our path in life whatever that might be. A spiritual teacher, a pastor or preacher would be the same idea here. They are the one in our lives we look to for guidance and wisdom. They help us to find the teacher or wisdom
within our own selves. Ultimately life leads you to realize that the answers are within us, not outside of us. The best teacher will teach you this ultimate wisdom, to rely on you and not the teacher. Many times if the teacher is good the student will surpass the teacher. My spiritual teacher in my life taught me this.

The Light

I believe that Neo and his crew represented the light and "Agent Smith" was the dark. In the end light is victorious over dark. Light when we remember it within our own spirits is just as the movie represents a place where we are very powerful and the dark cannot exist in it's place of being but only where fear still
remains.

What the movie is about...

The movie

The Matrix is a science fiction-action film written and directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano, and Hugo Weaving. It was first released in the USA on March 31, 1999, and is the first entry in The Matrix series of films, comics, video games, and animation.

The film describes a future in which reality perceived by humans is actually the Matrix: a simulated reality created by sentient machines in order to pacify and subdue the human population while their bodies' heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source. Upon learning this, computer programmer "Neo" is drawn into a rebellion against the machines. The film contains many references to the cyberpunk and hacker subcultures; philosophical and religious ideas; and homages to Alices Adventures in Wonderland,'' Hong Kong action cinema, Spaghetti Westerns, dystopian fiction and Japanese animation.

Rewards4life says:

Yes it is. I have watched it many times over and still find new meanings and hidden messages. It is one of those films which can teach you a lot about society, religion, meaning and what life is about.

Gandree says:

Yes, the Matrix blew me away by its spiritual applications when I first saw it. It is one of the few movies that I had to sit down and see again.

Intuitive says:

Yes. Having had very deep shamanic experiences just prior to seeing these movies I felt like the writer and director had been in those inner planes with me. They are very real depending on which lens of reality you're looking through.

Jewelsofawe says:

As you can see in this lens I do see this movie as a spiritual movie and I wrote about the message I see in it.

Can't say I do

Great lens and not just about an amazing movie. I have the box set and can go back and watch them over and over. It does hit you on many different levels, even the unexperienced spiritualist can see it is a film with many levels which can be attributed to the World we live in. Fantastic lens 5*

I believe that the Matrix does holds spiritual meanings or messages. I also believe several other movies do. The thing I have noticed the most is that it is only "Spiritual" people who seems to notice this of things in movies...or is that just how I view it? Hmmm....regardless, I loved the movie and can watch it over many times. Great Lens!

I had a weird energy experience when I watched this movie, like aliens were trying to take me over or something. And I wasn't on any drugs, I swear! I never could figure it out, but it put me off the Matrix movies. Bummer, cause so many people liked them.
