USB Flash Drives

USB drives are increasing in size and the role they play on every day business. Security is at the top of most people's mind when they use a USB drive or at least it should be. They are easy to misplace and the information that is kept on them these days rivals our very own desktop or laptop. USB drives are very useful in that they can keep small utility type programs on them to be used on any computer with a USB port. There are a small variety of secure USB drives and of course you can use software to secure the drive from novices. For those who crave serious security there is bio drives which require a fingerprint or a password. This does leave the drive a bit open to back-end engineering if someone really wanted the data on the drive. Then there is Iron Key which is so secure that the Pentagon could use these drives.

Iron Key + Roboform

Rocket Science Security

For those who have eager young adults in the house this can be a fantastic unit. You can use it along with secure password protected programs that keep a database of your user name and passwords. This makes it doubly hard for someone to break into your bank account or other secure files you have on your hard drive. The best password database program on the market is Roboform. It is highly recommended and can be downloaded here Using Roboform Portable allows you double the security. Using the feature that will create passwords that will stop most people. Now just to add to the security you place this on your Iron Key and then the person has to go through that password (be sure to never use the same password over and over for everything) and if by chance they are not able to find the right password after 5 tries the chip inside explodes and then it is totally unusable till it is sent to the company for a new chip. Now for the average person this might seem a bit over much but considering some of the sensitive material that people actually have this is a great precaution to take.
