The Vampire Diaries The Turning Point

I
n the opening scene, Stefan asks Damon where he's going (remember from the last episode "History Repeating" Damon told Stefan that he was going to leave town).

All Damon's hopes were dashed of bringing Katherine back there.

A really great scene happens when; Damon replies to Stefan


"I only have you, so where are we going?"


.. and then he jokingly suggests that they go and join the Amazing Race.

Ha, ha! Love him.



Very touching, I just adore the brotherly show of affection. Damon loves his brother, even though he has an odd way of showing it at times. His birthday present to Stefan wasn't very nice either.

The sheriff comes to the Salvatore home to ask Damon for help, there's been another murder. It's a vampire!

And since Damon made such a courageous vampire hunter on the night of Stefan's birthday, he of course, happily agrees to help. I really think he likes helping and being the good guy for now. I wish he would stay that way!

Stefan (who was eavesdropping on their conversation) briefly thinks it was Damon who turned someone else, Damon denies it. He has been on good behavior lately, so who is the new vampire?
Of course you know... Logan. However, Stefan and Damon don't know it just yet.

Caroline and Matt are seen hanging out together (maybe a little too close for comfort for some of their friends). Tyler later bothers Matt about it claiming that they're going to become a "we," meaning it will be "we this" and "we that," no more I.

It was a little annoying to see him pick on Matt about that. Matt really needs to be in a relationship with someone! The guy deserves a break.

Later, Damon uses Caroline to help him use the magic, vampire finding compass to track the new vampire's hideout. He can't use it because he's a vampire too (It would be pointing to him all the time!).

So the compass, leads Damon to a warehouse where he invites himself in (door was locked), only to be surprised by Logan who starts shooting wooden bullets into him. Logan just barely misses Damon's heart, by the looks of it.
Damon is surprised it's Logan, since he is the one who killed him. Logan is angry at him because he thinks he's the one who turned him into a vamp.

Damon then tells him it wasn't him and some other vampire must have found him and fed him his blood. Huh? I was under the impression he had to have vampire blood in his system before he died.

But Logan doesn't know anything about that, so what the heck happened there?

Scene ends with Logan shooting more wooden bullets into Damon and then leaving him there, injured but still alive.

B
ack at Mystic Falls high, it's Career Night. Elena is there and sees Stefan and realizes that he's watching over her; there's a new vampire in town and he can't help it. Even though he told her he's leaving town, he's still watching over her safety.

Stefan tries to make small talk and tells Elena that he once wanted to be a doctor, before he was turned into a bloodsucker that is. He asks about what she wants to do in the future, and she says something like..


"I don't want to talk about my future, because it's perfectly clear that you're not going to be in it."




Aunt Jenna interrupts them to tell Elena that Scumfell, meaning Logan, has arrived and won't stop bothering her.

Here is when Stefan realizes that Logan is the new vampire!

Logan walks up to Stefan and asks him how he can walk in the sun and such. He also threatens to tell Stefan's secret to the whole town.

Love the part where Stefan says, "You want to know how to walk in the sun? You can't! Don't EVER threaten me again."
Show him who's boss.

I would imagine those rings are prized treasures among vampires.. so where did they come from?

h yes, Jeremy and Tyler get in a fight,

because Tyler says something nasty about Vicki, implying that she slept around a lot. Jeremy, always defending her honor, pushes Tyler against the lockers.

The mayor (Tyler's dad) and Mr. Saltzman (hunky, history teacher) break up the fight.

Mayor Lockwood takes the boys outside for some fresh air.. this was a weird part. He tells Jeremy and Tyler to "fight it out," then and there. Say what?!

Well the moment for fighting has passed and Tyler is just embarrassed and Jeremy is completely confused.
Why the heck is Mayor Lockwood promoting violence? Luckily, cute history teacher (Alaric) intervenes and breaks up the weirdness.

We also saw a nice, clear shot of the full moon.

This leads us to believe that Tyler is a werewolf. He starts to act a little strange and kind of violent too. He punches Jeremy later when Jeremy tries to make amends.

Logan is at the school and the Sheriff confronts him.

Logan is supposed to be dead, she buried him, right? Yeah, in a "shallow grave" as Logan said. He's angry at her for what's happened to him.

She rudely replies, "You knew what you were getting into."



Logan says, "You've known me since I was six years old." Sheriff Forbes replies, "Now you're one of them."







Cold hearted. He paid with his life, that's pretty sad.

He's on the other team and he's the enemy, she makes that perfectly clear to him.

Bad move Sheriff!

As she later finds out, Logan offers to give Caroline a ride home. He knocks her out cold and calls the sheriff and threatens to turn Caroline into a vampire.

Damon swoops in and saves the day...

and just as he's about to knock Logan's lights out with a tire iron, Logan tells him that he can help him get to the tomb!

Damon is all ears after this, but the cops arrive and he has to look like a hero.

So he tells Logan to knock him down so he can meet him up later and says something like "make it look real!"

Logan pushes him down and has his chance to get away.

he most important part..

Elena tells Stefan she loves him.

Stefan's back is turned to her (he's walking inside his house) and he stops, he turns around to face her and he is overcome with emotion. He doesn't say anything, all he does is run up to her and kiss her passionately.

Paul Wesley is fantastic, love his facial expressions.

Stefan and Elena then have a beautiful love scene. Well done. And when it was over Stefan gets up to get Elena something to drink (always the gentleman) and then she discovers Katherine's picture just sitting there on the table!

Stefan, why the heck didn't you put that picture away?

Geez. He's got some major explaining to do, pronto.

Wait, but Elena storms out leaving her vervain necklace on top of Katherine's picture. Now, why would she leave that necklace behind? It's her only protection against vampire mind control.

Not good.

Stefan walks back in to find Elena gone and finds the evidence clear as day. Uh oh..

A
laric confronts Logan
and tells him to stay away from Jenna.

Isn't he sweet?

I loved his scene with Logan. He seems nervous and a little awkward as he's talking to Logan, I suppose it's one of his first vampire kills?

No Buffy skills just yet.

So Alaric stakes Logan just as he's about to sink his teeth into him. Down he goes.

Will he ever become like Buffy?

I thought you had to have superhuman strength to compete with vampires? Who knows.. I guess we have to wait and see.

lena rides off in her car, sans necklace, incredibly upset and then hits someone who is standing right smack in the middle of the road.

What the heck? Her car flips over, she's still conscious and sees the mysterious person get up, and as he's standing you hear his bones cracking back into place. Vampire, werewolf?

Who the heck is it? We must wait until January! The Vampire Diaries has us hooked!

Do you miss The Vampire Diaries already? I know I do.. and it's only been two hours since this episode has aired, sigh.
