The Seven Deadly Sins Logo

The Seven Deadly Sins are a set of vices used in early Christianity to educate followers and protect them from basic human instinct.

Any follower that would commit any of these sins would risk eternal damnation. The generally accepted Seven Deadly Sins are: Pride, Lust, Greed, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, and Envy.

Now with that quick intro let me say something very important. I am NOT a bible thumping, religious nut. I won't go as far as say I am the opposite, but it's close. Can't even remember the last time I stepped into a church for any reason. My Sundays mostly consist of hangovers and watching TV.

Pride Fuels all Other Sins in Our Evil World

That common sin of self importance. There are so many people that think they are above everyone else. These people will always believe that they are right, while everyone else is wrong. To them, there sports team is the best, there religion is the only correct one, and there stuff is always best.

You can display your pride for the world to see with Pride Inspired T-shirts and Gifts that will show how proud you really are. It is the father of all sin and the easiest to commit.

The Sins in More Detail

The Seven Deadly Sins, also known as the Capital Vices or Cardinal Sins, is a classification of the most objectionable vices which has been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct followers concerning (immoral) fallen man's tendency to sin. The final version of the list consists of wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony.

The Catholic Church divided sin into two principal categories: "Venial sins", which are relatively minor, and could be forgiven through any Sacramentals or Sacraments of the church, and the more severe "Capital" or Mortal sins. Mortal sins destroyed the life of grace, and created the threat of eternal damnation unless either absolved through the sacrament of Confession, or forgiven through perfect contrition on the part of the penitent.

Beginning in the early 14th century, the popularity of the seven deadly sins as a theme among European artists of the time eventually helped to ingrain them in many areas of Christian culture and Christian consciousness in general throughout the world. One means of such ingraining was the creation of the mnemonic "SALIGIA" based on the first letters in Latin of the seven deadly sins: superbia, avaritia, luxuria, invidia, gula, ira, acedia.

The Sin of Greed is at it's Greatest in Our Financial Crisis

This is a very popular sin in government and business. It's that urge to want more than you need. The more money the better, even when it's ill gotten wealth.

Corrupt CEOs have stolen pension money from their employees in recent years. They have been the biggest reason for the meltdown of our financial system. Show your support or disgust of the sin with Greed Inspired T-shirts and Gifts. There are plenty of things to show off your opinions of the crisis. This rich sin will make material possessions the number one priority.

Lust is on the Rise

Strong naughty desires drive this sin. It undresses everyone with it's eyes. There are ways to show this is a favorite sin with Lust Inspired T-shirts and Gifts, the voice of the naughty desires of society. This has nothing to do with puppy love, but everything to do with animal instincts.

This sin is strongest in men, but women are not safe from it's grip. There are some women that would put any man's sex instinctual drive to absolute shame.

Lazy Couch Potatos Enjoy the Sin of Sloth

The laziest sin out of the seven. It will force you to sit on the couch all day and watch TV. The sin produces so many bums and deadbeats. It's much easier to lounge around with Sloth Inspired T-shirts and Gifts to make you feel more at home.

Everyone needs to relax sometimes, but a lot of people take it to sinful proportions. It's much easier to sit around the house rather than go to work.

The Envy of Others Pushes People to Their Limits

Those jealous feelings plague many sinners. It's the reason people don't like their nice, rich, neighbor. This resentment is summed up well with Envy Inspired T-shirts and Gifts designed to express those envious feelings.

Celebrities evoke a lot of jealousy from the normal public. They get to do and see things things that normal people can only dream of. These wanting feelings will drive people to steal from the people that they envy.

The Food Shoveling Sin of Gluttony Keeps Fast Food Companies in Business

This is the party sin. It drives people to eat, drink and use drugs to excess. These over-indulgent feelings are well translated through Gluttony Inspired T-shirts and Gifts brought to you by a drunken, fast food society. This sin is a leading factor to increased obesity (fat people).

Many sinners are fat drunks. They will drink until they black out. When they aren't drunk, they will be feeding their faces. These people waste more every day than many poorer people have all week.
