Ever wanted to try something new for a change?

It's never easy to venture out past your food safety zone, but if you take the chance, more often than not you will leave full and happy.

I almost always dine with five friends, six forks and an empty stomach. I never leave hungry and I always go home happy.

My reviews of my dining adventures will follow as I take each step forward to new and delectable choices.

Romeo's Italian Grill and Bar

Georgetown Texas location

Entering in through the antique doors of the Old Masonic Lodge building, you are immediately greeted with the soothing sound of a piano. The hostess is to your left and the 1st floor of the restaurant pours out in front of you. A carefully positioned wine display rack separates the room and adds a touch of class to a novel idea. The decorated walls and painted ceiling blend well within this historical building.

I've dined here several times, but usually sit upstairs and only as a couple, yet on this visit we (all six of us) had a table below. The atmosphere is very inviting, but if you are here for a romantic dinner ask to sit upstairs on on the balcony because due to the hard floors and wood ceilings sitting downstairs is a little noisy. What out-shadowed the noise downstairs for all of us was the excellent wait staff, food and comfortable seating.

We each dined on a different dish and sampled each of the six en trees. Our six choices included: a Margherita Pizza, Vegetable Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Marsala, Fettuccini Alfredo, and lastly a very hearty plate of Pepper Seared Tuna. Each of the well presented en trees were exceptional! The flavor, the temperature, the texture, and the serving time was perfect!

I personally recommend Romeo's Italian Grill and Bar to anyone whom enjoys a well prepared meal from an outstanding establishment!

My last tip is to order their Calamari for an appetizer; they claim it's the best in Austin; I claim it's the best anywhere!

The County Seat located on the historical Georgetown Texas Square.

This place is on my top 10 list!

Nestled in the historic 1889 M.B. Lockett building on Georgetown's square right across from the newly remodeled Williamson County Corthouse, you will find a restaurant aptly named the "County Seat Cafe".

The County Seat is locally owned and operated by Chef Terry Olness whom just happens to be Georgetown's only Cartier Award winning chef. Chef Olness offers a very diverse selection of distinctive flavors that easily please the palate. The Chicken Marsala is my favorite dish on the menu and I never leave without ordering their legendary Bread Pudding.

I give this place 5 out of 5 Forks for their excellent service, friendly atmosphere, and reasonably priced menu selections.

Location:
County Seat Cafe
(512) 863-0596
119 West 7th Street
Georgetown, TX 78626

The best time to dine: Week day evenings; the place is a whole lot less crowed and the romantic-rustic decor makes for a nice place to take your special one out without having to take out a loan to do it.
