P90X Tips for Success 

5 essentials for maximum results

1. Throw out the junk. The best results come from fueling your body with good food. In P90X you will increase your food intake and still shred body fat. To do so, you need to make every calorie count. Don't sabotage all your hard work with bad food. P90X is hi-octane. Feed your body with premium fuel.

2. Sleep. A major part of your recovery and muscle growth occurs during sleep. Make sure to get at least 7 hours per night. Eight is better.

3. Get a little help from your friends. Any difficult task is easier with a supporive cast. Make sure your family is on board and understands that you will be improving your eating and will be exercising 1 to 1 1/2 hours almost every day. Use the P90X message board to find hundreds of friends working hard to "bring it" just like you. They are some of the most supportive people on the planet helping each other out and answering any questions you have about the X.

4. Dates with your weights. Schedule your workouts. You are much less likely to miss workouts if you schedule them into your day.

5. Modify as needed. P90X is designed so that you can modify it to fit your needs. Tony Horton shows multiple alternate moves for people who aren't quite as strong (yet), or who have bad knees, etc. You don't need to do everything exactly as he does. You just need to show up, "push play", and "Do your best, forget the rest!"

This program is not for everyone-it's for the rare breed that wants to see what's possible with 90 days of real training. You don't have to be an athlete or a bodybuilder. You just have to have the will to "Bring It" for 90 days.

Before starting an extreme fitness program like P90X, it's important to know where you stand and if your current fitness level is adequate. Providing an honest assessment of your abilities and your mindset will allow you to take advantage of your strengths and overcome your weaknesses.

If you are unable to perform the minimum requirements (listed below each exercise), you'll see better results by doing another fitness program before you take on P90X. So if you can't finish the Fit Test, do Power 90 or Slim in 6. You'll get great results, and then be able to come back and crush P90X!

The P90X Fit Test takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. Be sure to consecutively perform all the exercises in the order they appear. Keep up with the timing, and make a note if you do anything differently. Pay attention, and be honest with yourself.
