Meet Me At The Getaway Pub
Akron, Ohio -- If you are looking for a quaint little watering hole that serves burgers, fries, and a tall cold one, stop by The Getaway Pub. You can find this little gem in the heart of Merriman Valley.
If you are into sports, some of the bar's TV sets are set to sports stations. If you are into controversy, you can watch the news on the other side of the bar. Do you like to throw darts or play pool? There is a dart board and pool tables to hone your skills. But the biggest draw at The Getaway Pub is the music. Live bands weekly, with a Musicians Open Jam every Wednesday Night.

Who would know that a little place like this would have some of the best little burgers in town. No cereal or fillers in this burger. The chef knows the local butcher, and goes farm direct whenever possible. There's a board by the kitchen door with the special of the day. Always affordable, and always home made.

Musicians Play At The Getaway
Wednesday Night is the Muscians' Jam Night with Charlie's Poor Man Band. This is the time when local musicians can bring their instrument and sing, play, make music, and have a good time. No. This is not karaoke. This is live music. Below are some of the musicians and a bit about the pub.

It began when four musicians decided to get together on Wednesday nights for a free open jam session with other musicians. Within five weeks more than twenty musicians were in the house, each taking turns on vocals and instruments. Learning new songs, playing old songs, working with new songs, and rocking down the house. The Getaway Pub lights up. Charlie's Poor Man Band and the Wednesday Night Jam is all about good music and good times. How many musicians will show up next week? Who will sing? Who will play? - You have had some excellent local bands at The Getaway - The Satisfiers, The Swizzle Stick Band, The Fabulous Voices to name a few. Keep up the good work, it's nice to have a fun place like this right in Akron!

- I saw the satisfiers at Lock 3, loved the music, reminded me of a bunch of old men, married who are reaching for something they will never have again......stick to The Getaway, where all the old ladies are, or have you gone through them all GP?????
