What beautiful artwork! I am so sorry about the loss of your horses. I know that is a horrible and painful thing. I had to put down my Barrel horse and life time love after 20+ years and I truly understand every tear that fell as you painted their pictures.

What a wonderful horse mural, Delia! It must be quite hard to paint for such a piece of artwork since you were so many to create each your piece. I'm stunned, for sure! You're one of the most wonderful artists I've ever met!

I hadn't seen this before. Your panel is so very beautiful (and moving), and so is the complete mural. I think this is indeed a wonderful way to make and display art. And a lovely way to add your own lasting memorial to celebrate two very special horses.

Love your heart in this, beautiful art and horses. Thanks for sharing such a personal story and God bless.

What a heart breaking story about Ibn. My critters are my family and I can feel your pain over this. 29 healthy years for both horses was definitely a blessing and a testament to your care and love.

Also your artwork is great. :) As an equestrian artist I found this lens "entirely" interesting and engaging. 5* And now a fan.
  • westwindcreations Jan 6, 2010 @ 9:08 pm | delete
I believe you have done your horses justice. Wow I can imagine how hard it must have been. My mare just turned 18 and I know our days are numbered. 10 years goes by like a flash and it seems as though I just got her. Loosing horses or any animal is a tough thing. I think they have been honored with your painting and you should not shed another tear but remember all the fun and joy you all shared together. They would not want you to be sad for now they are free to run as horses should.
