Who is Ladymermaid

Life often chooses the path that you are to walk and that is what happened to me. I was 26 years old and in college when life decided to change the direction that I was headed in.

It was something that I would never have foreseen coming. I was struck down by a very rare chronic illness.

No one chooses to become disabled but it happens. It happened to me. One day I was fine and the next day I could hardly rise from my bed. My body ached unbearably, my mind was fuzzy, and I was so tired that I had trouble making my way to the kitchen table. What I did not know then was that my life from that moment onward would be forever changed. I would soon be diagnosed as suffering from a rare chronic illness, which it would turn out very few doctors had ever heard of, let alone knew how to treat.

There are far too many days when I am so fatigued that the most that I can accomplish is to sit, half dazed, staring into my computer screen.

I cannot count how many nights I am awake more than I am asleep. As soon as I stop moving the stiffness creeps in and with it the pain that is almost too much for me too deal with...Living With Myositis.

After years of testing my strengths, and weaknesses out in the real world, I finally had to acknowledge that I just wasn't strong enough to live like other people do. I began investigating the world of Internet Marketing and it seemed like a place that might be right for me. I dove in and discovered that it was indeed somewhere that I was only too happy to be playing.

My basic plan when I researched Internet Marketing was to open online stores. My reasoning was that I would be able to work from home, exert minimal energy for a chance at a viable income, and I would thereby be able to save my energy reserves for fun things like dancing, swimming, and playing.

In the process of creating linkage for the stores, an old hobby of mine came to the forefront, my love of the written word. Once I started writing again I didn't want to stop. I found that online I could write short articles, whenever I felt up to it, and I could do this from home. So although my fatique issues were still present they could now be worked around.

I found my niche, starving author if necessary, I wanted to be a writer and that was the direction that I was going in.

I was shocked when I stumbled upon one of the latest theories as to why I am ill? The theory is that I am sick because I may be a survivor of spontaneous remission from cancer.

Wow, now that was an article that caught my attention. I was glued to my computer screen. Could my over active immune system actually be triggered by my body's own attempts to heal itself?(Spontaneous Remission Theory?)

I smile a lot. I laugh a lot. It is what people say they notice most about me. My attitude. I have plenty of it and it comes out even when I don't want it to. When I am tired, I whine. If you disappoint or hurt me, I cry.

When I am angry I swear like a sailor. I am very emotional, I can't help it, that is just the way I am. I certainly don't have a poker face. I have no ability to be deceptive and I can't lie worth beans. I have a tendency to collapse into hysterical giggles if something amuses me. I am very honest, strongly loyal to those who are loyal to me, and an optimist ....Defining oneself.

When you participate in pleasurable activities like smiling, laughing, exercising or playing, your brain does an amazing thing and releases a little chemical message known as an endorphin.

These endorphins are feel good messages that have the power to actually remove physical and emotional pain. They travel down the spine, and then throughout your body, sending a feeling of well being as they go. These endorphins not only have the ability to relieve pain but they also have the power to make you feel happy. So remember to take time to play - It really is important.
