The Vision Board by Joyce Schwarz--My Review
The Vision Board by Joyce Schwarz
ISBN 978-06-157908-0
Published by Harper Collins
The first thing that I want to say about The Vision Board is that I feel this is a must read for everyone.
Vision Boards themselves have been around for a long time, but Joyce Schwarz really makes them come alive in this book.
The book is divided into these sections:
Foreward by Bob Proctor
Introduction
Visioning
Your Personal Vision Statement
Creating Vision Boards
Activating Your Vision Boards
Relationships
Gratitude
Wealth and Well-Being
Afterword by Jack Canfield
Acknowledgments
Contributor Credits and Resources
About the Featured Artists
The author get you right in to your own vision board early on in the book by telling you to grab 5 or 6 magazines to look through. You then cut out anything that jumps out at you, whether it be pictures or words. I jumped right in doing this. The following day I was putting my vision board together.
I have added to my board each day as I have continued to read the book. I have also taken notes to carry with me to remind myself of my visions when I am away from home.
One of the best parts of the books is there are pictures of others visions boards throughout the book....a lot of them! I found this to be very helpful and enlightening as I read about each one and the story behind it.
She also includes case studies of vision boards working. I particularly liked the first case study of a homeschool family who now is living their dream and living on a boat in the south in the winter and in the north in the summer.
The cover states "This book will change your life" by Jack Canfield, and I truly do believe it.
I would like to say a thank you to the gather staff for choosing me as one that was so honored to receive a copy to read and review.

My Vision Board

This is a photo of my own vision board, which is hanging above my bed. I won't go in to details on it, but did want to share it. I added a little touch with crayon scrolls around each word and photo but you can't see that too well in the photo.

- I got this book about the time I wrote my vision board lens. I had known about them for years, though, as they'd be mentioned as exercises in other books. I was excited that there was finally going to be a book just about them. You gave me the idea that I should put a picture of my physical vision board on my virtual one. :) One thing on it came true within 10 days of making it.
Also, I'm on Gather but have never been very active. How do you get sent a book to review? That sounds great! :)
Nice lens. 5*

- Sounds like a good idea. I have a "vision" mouse pad. It has a big squid on it, to encourage me about Squidoo!

- Marsha, I love your vision board, what a neat idea! We need to keep our vision (s) before us. That is a good reminder for me. I just wrote out a check for $25,000.00 and posted it where I can see it when I'm at my computer. I've been meaning to do that and keep that vision before me. Thanks!
