The Eli Story
The Eli Story
Rock Like A Nerd

The Eli Story is a pop rock trio from Chicago, Illinois, whose love for melodic songwriting, respect for equal collaboration, and utter lack of self-consciousness cook up a fun and quirky rock formula.
Always taking their music seriously, but never themselves, each member brings to the table diverse influences and backgrounds, resulting in a sound fueled with energy, drive, and catchy hooks. Every song is a story, permeated with emotion that is painted with powerful lyrics that can evoke laughter with one line and break a heart with the next. Through the music, these three ordinary guys, drummer and lead vocalist, Eddie Paul, guitarist/keyboardist, Michael Gouwens, and bassist/guitarist, Dylan Lower, strive to move their listeners by sharing the extraordinary truth in their own lives, creating an intimacy not found on any other stage.
Since the spring of 2006, this nerd rock trio has been delivering an energetic live stage show filled with musical balance, tight harmonies, and a little sarcastic humor thrown in for good measure. The Eli Story is currently recording their third CD to be released in winter 2010.
The Eli Story. Rock like a nerd.
Eddie Paul
Vocals, Drums
Edward Paul is an actor, musician, and theater arts educator. He is one of the founding members of The Eli Story (previously known as Get Everet), and enjoys sipping gluten-free beer while taking long walks off short piers. Eddie has been a percussionist for fifteen years, his favorite instrument being the cowbell. He's a clever lyricist, a talented singer, and an accomplished time traveler. Michael Gouwens
Guitar, Keys, Backup Vocals
Michael Gouwens, the other founding member of The Eli Story, is an actor, musician, and web developer. He's been singing and playing piano since the womb, and is a guitarist of fifteen years. He also does an amazing Gollum impression. Mike's favorite The Eli Story song is Imperfections, not because it describes his musical skills, but because its catchy melodies make the girls scream. Dylan Lower
Bass, Guitar, Backup Vocals
Dylan Lower joined The Eli Story in August of 2007. He's a brilliant bassist, vibrant vocalist, gifted guitarist, and bewitching banjo player. As the crowd favorite, Dylan proves it's possible to rock out in a baseball hat and flip-flops. Discography
