The Last Lecture

Many universities provide a forum for invited professors to present a "Last Lecture". The concept behind The Last Lecture series is that if the professor only had one Last Lecture to present, what vital message would they like to present to their audience.

Randy Pausch presented a wonderful and inspiring "Last Lecture" on September 18, 2007 (see below).

The Last Lecture

Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Randy Puasch's presentation for "The Last Lecture" at Carnegie Mellon University, entitled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams", is one of the most powerful and inspiring videos I have watched in a long time, particularly when you get the full context as revealed in the video and accompanying book

Dr. Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and underwent a surgical procedure in September, 2006. In August, 2007, he was informed he had between three and six months of good health remaining. As a result, his presentation on September 18, 2007 was, quite literally, his Last Lecture.

Given the prognosis he faced, and having a young family, he felt he might best use the opportunity to pass on an important message, his legacy, to his children. His Last Lecture, therefore, became the medium for this message. It is inspirational.

The video of "The Last Lecture" is available on YouTube or you can buy The Last Lecture Unabridged Cd on DVD.

Once you have finished viewing it, you may wish to watch the additional videos below.

On May 18, 2008, Dr. Pausch addressed the graduating class of Carnegie Mellon.

I found this video moving and inspirational. Hopefully, you found value in it as well. I think my favourite part are the virtual world characters as their world dissolves - an example of thinking outside the box.

My Bio

I have been a student of personal development for over 25 years, with specific interest in the ability and latent power of the mind, particularly the subconscious. I have recently developed the Integrated Success Program web-site comprising many ebooks, including many of the classics, pertaining to personal development and associated philosophy.

In addition, I have developed both the Integrated Success Program Blog and Integrated Success Program Group so as to provide a forum for discussion of topics pertinent to the field of personal development and for exchange of ideas.

I believe I have posted a considerable amount of quality content on these sites and would greatly appreciate any feedback and commentary you may wish to provide. My hope is that people will find my sites, repeatedly visit them and become regular contributors to the evolution of the sites.
