These Things I Love

The idea of food, lovingly prepared for storage, that one can just walk right in and get is such a soothing thing. Especially when combined with something else I love, organization. I'd love to reach a point where no matter what's going on in the outside world, there is always plenty for any guests and family at my house.

Electricity in the air, the feel of a storm moving over the mountains, winds buffeting you, I love storms and the way they make everything feel fresh and new.

There's nothing as soothing as cuddling and reading by the fireplace on a cold winter day.

Men who understand that their strength doesn't mean they should take advantage of or hurt those weaker than them, but instead should use that strength to take care of and protect them.

Clothes that are fresh from the laundry, especially fresh for the dryer or clothesline are so wonderfully fresh smelling and clean that I love them.

I love camping, especially at the end of the day when we all sit around the campfire and reminisce and share. It remind me of the thousands of years humans of all sorts have done the same thing.

Land means openness and freedom to me. I'm not a fan of cities, I'd love to live in the country and enjoy the sense of life around me.

I'm passionate about eyes. They communicate so much. Just a glance from beautiful eyes makes me smile. I'm especially partial to dark brown or black eyes, but all eyes are full of beauty.

Bright colors are so cheerful and great, they just automatically make you feel better.

Sinking into hot water and feeling snow falling all around me is a wonderful feeling.

I love all the seasons, but I especially love winter. The gleaming of light on freshly fallen snow, sunbeams shooting through crystalline icicles, and the fun of snow falling from the sky. Making snowmen and snow angels, having snow fights and making snow forts, sledding and wandering through forests covered in snow, the entire season is full of magic.

I love how creative snow can be. It's possible for anyone to make a private, little fort to hide and have fun in. Everyone enjoys having a space that's all their own. That any snow buildings, no matter how extensive, are ephemeral makes is rather bittersweet.

Having been raised in what's considered a desert, rain has always felt special to me. I have a huge affinity for earth and water, and dancing around on wet dirt while water falls from the sky still thrills me to my soul. And then, after the rain as stopped, the world is so new and fresh and clean, and there are rain puddles to splash my way through.

Unexpected kisses are just so fun and delicious.

I love the moon. It seems to sit up there in the sky and observe the going-ons on Earth dispassionately and yet somehow comfortingly. It varies so much, going from a thin, nearly not there crescent, delicate and pretty to a pearl, glowing and caught in the branches of a tree to a round, full face staring down at us.
