Email anywhere! Sync your Thunderbird email
Thunderbird, as with any email client, is designed to download and manage your email on one main computer. This makes it difficult to access your email if you want to work from a different computer. 4 Easy steps to setup Thunderbird to sync with Gmail
It's a little bit more in depth than I can outline in just an article but full instructions are in the video tutorial at ThunderbirdSync. Here are the steps:
1. Setup a Gmail account
2. Get Gmail to pick up all your email from your mailbox instead of it going straight to Thunderbird
3. Set up Thunderbird to synchronize with Gmail
4. Synchronize your contacts between Thunderbird and Gmail
It makes life so much simpler! I prefer to use Gmail most of the time but I lost my internet connection the other day so couldn't access it. Because I had set up the system I've just outlined I could use Thunderbird to continue to work on attachments, write new emails and compose replies to old emails. Then when I had a connection again (2 days later....) I sent a whole bunch of emails at once and looked at my new emails.
