Gawk! Loiter Among Thusness!
The universe is vast, cold and ancient.
We need a sensible story.
We need to react to Hubble Deep Field image. Ignoring it would be a true shame and would miss an opportunity for real human growth.
Let's get out there. Let's dance with falling leaves. Let's feed hummingbirds. Let's gawk. Most importantly, lets not stifle for tired old doctrine.
“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
-Albert Einstein”
Hubble Deep Field
Please watch this. It will blow you away.
Closer Look At The HUDF Image
Drag the circle to check out a magnified view of a little piece of the image.
- Step Closer!
- In this link you can really see how BIG this image is. You can see the whole image and then take a closer look at any area of the picture.
REMEMBER, EVERY POINT OF LIGHT IN THIS IMAGE IS AN ENTIRE GALAXY, NOT JUST A STAR.
Where to?

- It's like this.
- Wiki description of Tathata
- Here are pictures, links for more links, inspiration, observation, wonder, delight, emptiness, richness, wonder.
- Billions of galaxies
- This is the image. This is Hubble Deep Field. Every point of light here is an entire galaxy. This image was taken from a piece of sky, otherwise known to be blank that would be a square milimeter large held a meter from one's face.
This density of galaxies is presumably ubiquitous in EVERY blank little piece of sky. - Hubble Ultra Deep Field
- HUDF image. Again, every point of light here is not a star, it's an entire galaxy.
- Speaking Of Faith
- This is a radio show produced by American Public Media about faith and modernity. Everything from titles like, "Cosmology, Faith and Hope" to "Bioethics of Reproductive Cloning," to "The Ecstatic Faith of Rumi," are featured. Krista Tippet is the host and always challenges her guest with difficult and thought-provoking questions. This will keep you coming back.

- Hubble Image Gallery
- Tons of absolutly amazing images from this, our glowing universe.
- Five Theories To Make Your Head Explode
- This clever and sometimes sardonic page discusses five scientific theories and observations, and their implications that are mind blowing, including the Hubble Ultra Deep Field image.

Lets Look Around!
Let's Invent.
God as controller and creator is boring. God as judger and giver and taker is boring. That's just baggage, having to do with ourselves only. Atheism is a reaction to an old, silly, boring version of God. Thus, Atheism too, is BORING.GOD IS BIGGER THAN THAT. God is everything, God is nothing, God is just this and that and everything.
God is our choices, our friends, our enemies, our being, our futures, our roots and stories.
Let's invent something instead of denying an old something else! Why Not? The entire universe, (all those billions of GALAXIES) is not going to punish us for it. We punish ourselves by stifling the wonder.
Worship is seeing the world with true eyes. To deny what is, is to deny yourself of true worship. Just because the Bible says the Earth was made in six days, six thousand years ago does not make it true.
The Bible may very well be the best poem ever written, but to accept it blindly and deny the facts of the world is absolutely to deny what God HAS done. God did not design each creature at once, that's boring.
That mankind, and all the other glorious creatures came about slowly and DIDN'T NECESSARILY HAVE TO EVER HAVE HAPPENED makes it MORE beautiful!
WE ARE LOVE CONDUCTORS.

A Man Enjoying Thusness
Stars in the Cathedral Top
Wonder as Prayer
The woods are my cathedral, and the stars my painting on the cathedral top. Believing a story to death, even a great story like the Bible while denying what is so obviously before us is to piss on the truth of thusness.
There may or may not be some loving God, but the fact is, this is our planet and we have to be our own best friends. The universe is too big for us and the world is too small. We need to get over it and realize that our lives, our families, our communities and our choices, by virtue of being so absolutely irrelevant in terms of the whole universe, are also absolutely the most important things in our own tiny universes called our lives.
We are saddled with the ultimate version of Nietzsche's eternal return. We are each other's hills and we are all Sisyphus. Let's push together. We're all we've got.

If You Look With the Right Eyes
Thus That Is
This Is Thus

Look around! This is really happening! It could have just as easily been NOTHING. But we get butterflies and the Grand Canyon! We get the infinite hardworking hands of love itself.
God is THUSNESS. God is being itself.

Wonder is Worship
Let's look God in the face instead of differing to a story we're told. Let's write that story as we go. Let's respect what this is. Let's learn more about it and worship it with wonder and questions. Let's get over each other and start having conversations.
Worship is wonder

We stifle ourselves for an old story.
We peel our eyelids wide to breath it deep.
shevans says:
AMEN!!!! Let's do it!
Whereyouare says:
Watch your dog on his walk. All smells are good! Breathe them in.
AnnRadley says:
With a quiet mind, look at the beauty right in front of you. Worship is wonder - absolutely.
WhiteOak50 says:
This is something I have done all of my life, and I suppose I will continue to do so. As I have always said, "Life is filled with magick, if we allow our eyes to it."
M_Hayden_Raue says:
You KNOW it! Open up and suck it down alllllll the way. Kick the leaves on the sidewalk. Stop and watch the pecking sparrows.

- Yes, Hubble does raise religious questions about our place in the universe, with its awe-inspiring pictures of hundreds of millions of galaxies. Amazing...

- This lens hooks right in to what inspires wonder - for me. The videos are amazing, and the Hubble Ultra Deep Field images - I could just stare and stare. The image of the multi headed, multi armed, Shiva (is that Shiva?) with an eye in the palm of each hand, says it all too. "Wonder" full lens!

- I really like this lens, alot. While I was watching the video of the hummingbird, although I have never had a hummingbird feed from my hand like that, I have held one in my hands. I have also watched a luna butterfly sit and allow their wings to dry. All of this and so much more are the true magicks of life. Thank you for adding this to the Pagan Path.

- Great video! I've always had a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that we aren't even as big as a speck of dust in the universe, but it's fascinating to think about it.

- Hook me up, people! Tell me what you think, what I can do better, if my take on this image and its implications is at all clear, at all true, or total nonsense for you! Please!
