Serious Social Issues Confronted In His Movies...
I'm not a psychologist, but it's blatant that Tim Burton has an extremely dark side that he's not afraid to show the world. Just look at every single one of his movies.
Characters are either dead, obsessed with death or forced to interact with the dead and want nothing to do with death because they are afraid of the unknown. And if it's not death it's the dark side of any situation.
As a young boy, Burton began making movies with Super 8 camera, one of which called The Island of Doctor Agor. The short film, Burton's own take on theĀ was shot when he was only 13 years old. Burton also starred in the titular role.
He displays this from his first short film, which was shot at at 13, "The Island Of Doctor Agor". It's his personal spin on H.G. Wells' 1896 sci-fi novel "The Island of Doctor Moreau," starring himself and personal friends; All the way up to his upcoming release "Sweeney Todd". Mr. Todd is a demented barber who slits people's throat while shaving them and disposes of their bodies in quite a peculiar way.

Not Familiar With Mr. Burton's Work?
You Should Be!!!
The following is a list of movies Mr. Burton has directed since the start of his career. Of course these are just the ones that have been made available to the public, who knows what crafty "ol Timothy has hidden up his sleeve. For instance, Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice and the stop-motion animation film James and the Giant Peach.
The first cameo was years before production of The Nightmare Before Christmas, though Burton had toyed with the original story idea while still an animator at Disney.
The Island Of Doctor Agora
1971
I haven't personally seen or heard of this short film and there isn't very much information available out there. Fortunately I was able to dig up a little bit about it...As a young boy, Burton began making movies with Super 8 camera, one of which called The Island of Doctor Agor. The short film, Burton's own take on the H.G. Wells' 1896 sci-fi novel "The Island of Doctor Moreau," was shot when he was only 13 years old. Burton also starred in it along with some personal friends.
The Doctor Of Doom
1979
Doctor Of Doom was filmed in black and white on video, with a deliberately bad overdubbing in order to make something that looked like a foreign import from the sixties, with Burton playing Dr. Doom.If anyone has any additional info about this short film, please leave it in the comment section and I'll update the lens...
Stalk Of The Celery
1979
Once again, I need assistance with this early short film so feel free to leave it in the comment section Vincent
1982
Vincent is the story of a young boy, Vincent Malloy, who pretends to be like the actor Vincent Price. He is obsessed with the tales of Edgar Allan Poe, and it is his detachment from reality when reading them that leads to his delusions that he is in fact a tortured artist, deprived of the woman he loves, mirroring very much certain parts of Poe's "The Raven." The film ends with Vincent being tortured by the goings-on of his make-believe world, quoting The Raven as he falls to the floor in frailty, believing himself to be dead. Luau
1982
Luau is an energetic homage to beach-blanket movies and other B movies, complete with song-and-dance numbers. Tim Burton stars as the disembodied head of "The Most Powerful Being In The Universe" Hansel And Gretel
1982
Contrary to popular belief, this film contains no animation. Tim Burton's "Hansel and Gretel" is a live action film short featuring Japanese actors and striking set designs Frankenweenie

Alfred Hitchcock Presents: The Jar
1986
Conceptual artist Knoll (Griffin Dunne) hasn't made one piece of work worthy of consideration. An art critic writes a really bad review at Knoll's latest exhibit. While taking apart a 1938 Mercedes purchased at a junkyard, Knoll finds a jar with indescribable contents, and becomes entrapped within its spell. Putting the jar in the center of his exhibit, people come from all around to stare at the unusual thing, each seeing something different. One man leaves laughing in hysterics, while another woman claims it makes her sick to her stomach. One man says it's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen, while a pair of lovers feel sexual stimulant. Knoll becomes a huge success overnight and his other pieces sell for large sums. It seems everyone loves the jar except for his wife, Erica (Fiona Lewis), who begs him to get rid of it. Out of jealousy, Erica knocks over the jar and the contents slither away. Grabbing a sharp knife, Erica intends to destroy it but instead she gets into a struggle with her husband and Knoll knows exactly what to do... During his next exhibit, Knoll has the jar back on display, now with a strange - but unsuspected - new ingredient... Alfred Hitchcock Is The Man!

This man is the Spook. Spooks travel the country fighting troublesome creatures such as Boggarts, Ghosts/Ghasts, and Witches, for the money of the people who need these things gone. However the religious world hates them, for they are thought to be meddling in the dark powers themselves, which is against the Christian church.
Tom knows that his parents have agreed to make Tom the apprentice of the Spook. He will have to learn how the Spook fights "The Dark" as it's referred to in the book.
The Spook is actually a very caring person, and seems to look after Tom like a son. He explains that most of his other apprentices have failed, due to them being cowardly, disobedient, or deceased. (Later in the series, we learn that a failed apprentice seeks vengeances on the Spook.

- Thanx a ton for visiting my Lens YouGotToBeKidding.
It was rumored he was supposed to do the next Superman a few years back and he was going to make it all depressing. I mean think about it... Superman is an alien who has to pretend to be weak and feeble and can't tell ANYONE who he really is.
That would be an immensely dark and depressing way to live. They said he couldn't portray Superman like that so he turned down the gig... WAY TO GO TIM!!!

- Tim Burton is, indeed, a genious.
Sometimes, genious is mistaken (or interpreted) as lunacy.
Maybe he's both? At any rate, he's an incredible director and has an awesome catalog of work.
