Seven. I have seven tips to share on saving money on your food budget. These are great tips that I have used to save a lot of money, couple these tips with coupons and those special "card" prices and you have a whole lot of food for a little bit of money...
Tip 1 - Instead of buying a favorite name brand each trip to the supermarket, try their store brands. Typically, these are going to taste just as good, and will save you money. After I started buying store brand instead of name brand, my grocery bill was cut in half.
Tip 2 - Buy in bulk, not singular packages. Purchase the economy size containers even if they appear to be higher in price. What you need to do is get in the habit of looking for the cheapest per-unit price instead per package price. Try and steer clear of prepackaged foods for convenience. These may save you moments in the kitchen, but you will pay in the long run. Buy large sacks of chips and bag them separately for lunches, and buy small reusable drink containers instead of juice boxes for your kids.
Tip 3 - Look for special promotions that stores may be running. Go to your favorite stores and keep up to date on promos and sales. Plan meals according to the sales flyer.
Tip 4 - Try to get fresh vegetables and fruits while they are still in season. Freeze these in storage bags and you will have these for later times when they are out of season and thus more expensive. Also, fresh has more vitamins and minerals than canned.
Tip 5 - Before you go to the store, always have ate something beforehand. Sounds silly, but you will buy more if you go there hungry.
Tip 6 - When you shop take a list of things that you need for that weeks menu. Purchase only from the list, impulse buying are priced according to those little weaknesses.
Tip 7 - For a cheap and easier way to get lunches, make an extra plate at dinnertime. Put this up and have it for lunch. Freeze individual containers of extra chili, soup, spaghetti, etc... Always thrive on extending the meals... Bag up leftover veggies to have a quick soup one day.
These may sound very simple, but its hard to get in the habit of doing. It took a bankruptcy to get me to really set forth a budget.
I hope this was helpful, thanks for reading.

Start Making Money Today!Ways to Save Money You would never think of
In the world we live in, money is the most important factor that determines the way you live your life.
When you are trying to develop good strategies to save money, what is the first thing you think of changing? Should you eat less, should you wear the same clothes every day, or should you save money by becoming an intelligent shopper?
When you don't have anyone to tell you what you should do, the quest to save money may seem a little difficult, because you can't think of too many things to do. Some time ago I found myself in the unpleasant situation of being bankrupt and, trust me, when you hit financial rock-bottom, you become very resourceful on finding ways to save money.
Some people may be searching for ways to save money as well, and because of this I will try to share a few that I found out myself. Since meals are something we cannot go without, this is the most important aspect you need to keep under control.
The visits to the grocery store are the ones that leave the greatest dent in our wallet. One of the first ways to save money is to control your grocery shopping frenzy. Many stores have their own brands, which are usually cheaper than popular brands, but with the same taste and effect. Keeping your costs down for satisfying the same needs is one of the easiest ways to save money.
The packaging of the products also plays an important role in the pricing. Singular packages are always more expensive than large size containers. If you do the math, buying in bulk means lower cost per unit and therefore is a great way to save money.
Another thing you should be on the look out for are sales. Major stores always have something on sale, making this another good way to save money. However, always control your desires to benefit from discounts. Always purchase something because you need it, not because it is on sale. Furthermore, this may sound silly, but always be sure that you go shopping on a full stomach, because everything looks appealing when you are hungry.
