Toby Kebbell - Johnny Quidd

Who is Toby Kebbell?

Toby Kebbell is a British actor born in 1982 in Pontefract, Yorkshire, UK. His family moved to Nottinghamshire where he grew up. When he was 15, after dropping out of school, became a painter and decorator, worked in a hotel and got into a group called Central Television Workshop. At the age of 20 he moved to London (Stratford) to work for voice-overs companies in Kings Cross.

I have heard Toby Kebbell lives in London, Bethnal Green... unfortunately I never had a chance to meet him when strolling down East London roads... keep your eyes open ( mainly to avoid getting robbed) and perhaps it will be your lucky day, and you'll meet this gorgeous hunk getting out of a grocery store!

Johnny Quidd

Toby Kebbell recently gained notoriety thanks to Guy Ritchie's masterpiece Rocknrolla, where he plays Johnny Quidd, a junkie musician. In this movie, Toby Kebbell gives an outstanding performance, as he definitely stands out from the rest of the cast. There's something magnetic about Johnny Quidd, you hate him because he is a junkie, you love him because he is a gangster yet sophisticated and smart. However, Kebbell did not win the BAFTA he deserved although he was nominated. Rocknrolla is a movie not to be lost, the best British production in a while, destined to become a cult, no doubt! Rocknrolla is realistic and terribly funny yet nearly noir at times, the charactrs are real and alive, the film gives you a savoury taste of what is like living in London nowadays, because these types of characters... well, they really do exist in London!

As a human being you can't just draw one string on your bow, man, you've got to have shit to fall back on.

What else does Toby Kebbell do?

He is into plumbing (yeah, I am not kiddin') and writes short stories for children because QUOTE: I write all sorts. Short films, little stories, children's stories, because you never can tell. As a human being you can't just draw one string on your bow, man, you've got to have shit to fall back on. I don't know where acting's going to take me, it's just so topsy-turvy and you don't know when you're going to be working so you've got to keep all facets open I think.

Haven't seen Rocknrolla, but I knew I recognised this guy's face from somewhere; Dead Man's Shoes is a really impressive film. I'll definitely have to watch Rocknrolla some time. Thanks for featuring my Danny Dyer lens here.

I was totally captivated by Rocknrolla, an excellent and underrated movie by Guy Ritchie.

If you know London, you know what I mean!
