Toddler s Room Decorating Ideas

Ranked #71,811 in Education, #1,121,404 overall

Decorating your child or toddlers bedroom on a budget can be quite difficult. Of course, as parents, we all want the best (and sometimes the most expensive) things for our children. But when you think about it, toddlers can easily be pleased with the smallest and most simple things. At the same time, toddlers can also be creative and destructive little creatures, thus, there is really no need for opulent and lavish furnishings and decorations. A little creativity can go a long way and can make the decorating process a whole lot of fun.

Toddler's Room Decorating Ideas

Decorating your child or toddlers bedroom on a budget can be quite difficult. Of course, as parents, we all want the best (and sometimes the most expensive) things for our children. But when you think about it, toddlers can easily be pleased with the smallest and most simple things. At the same time, toddlers can also be creative and destructive little creatures, thus, there is really no need for opulent and lavish furnishings and decorations. A little creativity can go a long way and can make the decorating process a whole lot of fun.

Paint The Walls. A fresh coat of paint can give a room a face lift at any time. Stick to pastel colors that suit your toddler's gender. Try pink, lavender or yellow for girls and blue or green for boys. Painting the walls plain is also a great idea because you can match it up with any themes in the long run. Which brings us to the next tip..

Themes. Children love themes. They love cartoon or book characters. And while they love their characters, they also lose interest in things quite easily. Thus, your toddler may want to have a Bob the Builder room right now, and may be clamoring for Cars all of a sudden next month. Thus, even if you're tempted to go all out with a theme room (matching walls, bed, bedspread and the works), don't.

Use stick on borders, wallies and framed posters to put theme to a child's room. You can also make use of toys, books, bed sheets and lamp shades to add to the theme. These things are quite cheap and can easily be replaced once your toddler wants another character.

Chances are, as long as you paint his or her room according to gender, most of the characters that he or she would want can easily meet and match the wall's color. This way, the bedroom paint can outlast a couple of character and theme changes.

Bedding. Kids can get pretty excited to get bed sheets with characters on them. If you plan to get them bed sheets like these, keep the comforter in a neutral color. This, again, increases the usability of the comforter as it can be used for other themes and characters later on.

Asking your kids to join with the decorating process keeps them preoccupied and gives them something fun to do, too. Just remember to give them age appropriate tasks. Have fun redecorating!
