The identical twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz (* 1. September 1989) had been playing Music together since childhood. They were helped musically by their Stepfather, who is himself a Musician in Magdeburg.

They met Gustav Schäfer (* 8. September 1988) and Georg Listing (* 31. März 1987) at a Gig in 2001 in Magdeburg., they grounded together the Band Devilish and had gigs in Magdeburg. After Bill Kaulitz took part in the TV programme Child-Star-Search 2003, the band was seen by Music producer Peter Hoffmann. Sony BMG Music Entertainment took Tokio Hotel under Contract. Hoffmann brought David Jost und Pat Benzner in producer - Author team and gave the Band members Song & instrument lessons.

They were dropped by Sony shortly before the first record came out. Universal Music Group took Tokio Hotel 2005 under contract and formed a marketing plan, that brought Tokio Hotel the Commercial success they deserved.
