Thomas John Patrick "Tom" Welling (born April 26, 1977) is an American actor, director and former fashion model, most famous for his continuing portrayal of Clark Kent in the television series Smallville. His films include Cheaper by the Dozen and its sequel, and the 2005 remake of The Fog.

Tom Welling was discovered by an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog scout who worked for the world famous photographer Bruce Weber. Tome did the shot and made a few thousand dollars for the Christmas 1997 Abercrombie & Fitch Quarterly.After Tom and his parents moved to Michigan he continued modeling from time to time for New York Model Management. During these years Tom worked with Louisa Models and traveled the world for modeling assignments.
