Hip Hop

Nowa' days Hip Hop comes in many different shapes and forms.

Some say Hip Hop is dead...

I say Hip Hop is alive and well.

You may not hear it on the radio...

You may not see it on tv...

....it was said "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"

Long Live Hip Hop!

Just A Rhyme

http://www.tommylockhart.com Tommy Lockhart Is a hungry independent artist on the grind. This gifted and insightful emcee got his start at age 9 battling cats on the streets. He embraced Hiphop and never let her go. His style and flava were impart influenced by rappers like Run DMC, LL Cool J, KRS ONE, Public Enemy, & Rakim to name a few. But ultimately it was socio economic circumstance and the streets that molded him. Hood life, though dangerous and seductive; relinquished codes, tutorials, and lessons that kept Tommy Lockhart from being a mere statistic and fueled his life's purpose: to ENTERTAIN, EDUCATE and EMPOWER. The adventures of Tommy Lockhart extend from the rugged streets of Brooklyn to a short lived college experience at North Carolina A&T, to serving time in the Army, to various parts of Florida, Atlanta and his current residence Compton. LIFE EXPERIENCE enables him to flex confidence and emotion while putting everything going on in the hood into perspective. His lyrical dexterity, cryptic street tales and timely yet timeless songs exude the essence of Hiphop. http://www.1stloverecords.com

Just A Rhyme

It happened so fast...saw his whole life flash...standing on the block drinking liquor thru a flask...2 guys with black masks, black gats, moving mad fast...he never saw 'em like passed gas...he ain't seen shit, then his spleen hit clean hit...got him stumbling like Ben Vereen did...wondering where things went wrong...23rd psalm...he's wishing...asking for forgiveness...despite his misgivings...a second chance would be terrific...

PAST...

wish he would've played dad in his kid's life...but he chose to try to live trife, never thought twice, had to rock ice, he on the block all night...strange how life works out...school never taught him what he need to learn bout...no role model...no one to follow...couldn't see tomorrow...all his dreams seemed hollow...he was quick to blast for the fast cash...put in work late nites with the ski mask...home invasions...rival drug confiscation...mind and time wastin...stays intoxicated...now his own death he's facing...murder collaboration...never realized karma was chasing...feeling burning sensations of slug penetration...caught him unaware and unprepared...

NEVER BUST YO GUN UNLESS U WILLING TO DIE...DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME...YOU GO AND DO YO THANG...AND I'MA DO MINE...TAKE THIS MORE SERIOUS THAN JUST A RHYME...

Swirling cold winds on hot summer nights...he's alone under-aged heart filled with fright...he's gotta survive its do or die...final tear of boyhood falls from his eye...he's wondering why...his only chance was half ass...wishing he had parents and could go to class...but he need cash...cause it cost just to live...and it seemed the whole world don't got much to give...so he's forced to ask "Does Crime Really Pay?" what do I got to lose no one cares anyway...hey...he wants things to be different and that's the truth...but he's got needs...like clothes, food, and roof...so here's goes nothing...guess who got a gun...and sadly enough at first it was kind of fun...but now he wish it had never begun...cause he'll be a convict until he's fucking 51...and he'll be released without an education...mad at the world for his situation...no parole violation...gotta beg the Caucasians...to still give him a job despite his incarceration...wages minimal for ex-criminals...you wonder why going back so typical?...then look at his life and are very critical.?..why is the situation a coming-of-age ritual?

NEVER BUST YO GUN UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO DIE...DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME...YOU GO AND DO YO THANG AND I'MA DO MINE...TAKE THIS MORE SERIOUS THAN JUST A RHYME
