When you are promoting your website, I recommend doing so in a responsible manner. It will not do anything good for your reputation if you are viewed as a spammer. A number of good ways to drive traffic to your website will involve interacting with others in forums, email, blogs and social networking communities. You want your posts to be viewed as valuable, relevant contributions. Post only where your website content is actually relevant to the topic.

Gaining a high position in search results is going to be your most effective long term tactic to drive website traffic. When done properly, Search Engine Optimization will guarantee that search engines properly index your site and will increase your search ranking.
2. Email Promotion

Email promotion is unique in that you are delivering your message to the readers as opposed to them coming to your website. It is an opportunity to speak directly to the recipient, increase your standing with them by providing relevant content and encourage them to buy from you and return to your website.

Trade links with other websites containing similar content to your site. If they have a good search ranking, that will reflect well on how the search engines rank your website.
11. Online Video Promotion

Online videos have seen dramatic increase in popularity. People search for videos they might find interesting quite often. You can post videos relevant to your content and link back to your site.
12. Classified Promotion
Function: Links back to your website.
Free classifieds are an easy way to reach large amounts of people. Some really good classified websites do actually get ranked well by search engines, but not all do.
