1. Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart DS will drive players new and old to distraction as they race their way around a selection of tracks, including all-new extravaganzas and time-honoured classics from previous versions of the games. What's more Mario Kart DS will be the first Nintendo DS title to offer gamers online play allowing you to race anyone, anywhere, anytime for free.
Want to show off your skills? Then get excited as Mario Kart DS features both online and wireless multiplayer modes. By using the Wireless DS Single-Card Download Play feature, up to 8 players can link up with just one game card. Alternatively you can battle it out online with three other players either in the comfort of your own home using your existing Wi-Fi broadband; or in the High Street either at Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Access Points in store or at Nintendo Wi-Fi connection enabled public Wi-Fi hotspots. Never before has it been so easy to pick up a games console and challenge friends from all over the world for free.

Mario Kart DS is hands down the absolute best game available for the DS. As one would expect from the long running series, Mario Kart DS allows you to play as Mario and co. in a series of go-kart races. The gameplay mechanics will feel like putting on an old glove for longtime fans of the series, while newcomers will have no trouble getting into the game. As you progress through the various circuits, you'll find bonus tracks, karts, and characters to unlock as well, which adds a nice amount of replayability to the single player mode. Along with the new tracks, there are some retro tracks available as well taken from the past incarnations of the series. The real main attraction of Mario Kart DS however, is the fantastic Wi-Fi multiplayer mode. There are only a handful of DS games which support Wi-Fi capability, and none is better at it than Mario Kart. This is where the real meat and potatoes of the game lies, and you'll have a hard time putting down your DS after getting a taste of it. The game looks, sounds, and plays phenominally, and all in all, Mario Kart DS is yet another excellent, must own, first party title for the DS, and the Wi-Fi options make it even more of a smash.

2. Nintendogs Miniature Dachshund & Friends
The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them.
Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet's need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS's inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders.

I've played many pet games before this one - Catz, Dogz, Creatures, NeoPets, you name it. It's impressive how far the graphics have come in these games. The Nintendog pet is very emotive - from the hopeful eyes to the wagging tail, you really get a sense that this is a live creature anxious for affection. You can pet the pup, nuzzle it under the chin, tickle its belly. When you throw the ball or toss the frisbee, it really reacts the way you would think it should.
It's delightful to see a game that doesn't involve violence or destruction. Sure, if you neglect your pet it will get upset. But in general, you can go as slowly as you wish, caring for your pet, knowing that it will unashamedly love you back completely.

3. Animal Crossing: Wild World
Players move into a living, breathing world inside the Nintendo DS...and then invite their friends to visit from anywhere on earth. In this sequel to the wildly popular Nintendo GameCube game, players and up to three friends can hang out in the same village and interact in real time either through wireless LAN or over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Now players can visit a friend's village from thousands of miles away. The touch screen makes item management and world navigation a breeze. Typing letters and designing patterns are now just stylus strokes away. Days and seasons pass in real time, so whether players want to decorate their homes, catch bugs or fish, collect brand-new items like hats and sunglasses or just chat with the wild and wacky characters in their villages, there's always something to do.

First of all, if you haven't heard of this game, you have been missing out on one of the most interesting and fun gaming experiences of all time!
Animal Crossing is a game with a unique plot. That is to say, no plot. But, surprisingly, that is a good thing. A VERY good thing! It gives you a lot of free reign. Basically, it's a 'Slice of Life'.

4. Wario Ware: Touched!
Wario makes his mad debut on the Nintendo DS with 180 all-new, factory-fresh microgames! What really makes this game rock is the DS''s touch control. Whether you''re slicing veggies flying through the air or ripping the clothes off a sweltering beachgoer, the touch control makes playing Wario''s blazingly fast microgames incredibly simple and loads of fun! Did we only say ""touch""? Sorry, we forgot mic control.
Yep, a karaoke-mad robot named Mike is on hand to get this party going with special mic-controlled games. For the absolutely first time in video-game history, you can blow sweet nothings into the ear of that someone special or cool off a cup of hot java. How cool is that! What are you waiting for?

This is the perfect game for gamers like me. Someone who likes to play for 15-20 minutes at a time. Wario Ware Touched is a series of 5 second mini games that are easy to understand, fun to play and full of wacky (sometimes crass) humor. The quick pace of the games makes it perfect for short gaming sessions and still lets you acomplish something.
Many times I found myself chuckling or laughing out loud while playing this game. So be careful if you're playing in public and don't want to get crazy looks from passersby. They might think you're going insane and maybe you are, but you're going to having a great time with Wario. A truly memorable gaming experience.

5. Super Mario 64 DS
The all-time classic is back ? and better than ever! Super Mario 64 DS is the perfect showcase for the power of Nintendo DS, with touch sensitive control, dual screen gameplay and slick 3D graphics. Play the complete Nintendo 64 adventure, now with all-new characters, courses, game modes and challenges. Or battle with three friends in Wireless Versus mode (the game supports Single-Card Play for downloading the game wirelessly to friends? systems). Last, and definitely not least, you can try your hand (or your stylus) at tons of new touch-sensitive mini-games.

Overall this is a very good game, and I'm glad to see it get the long overdue revival it deserves. If you're one of the fortunate few that shelled out the cash for a Nintendo DS, this game is the obvious choice to buy with it. Mario rarely fails to please, and this is no exception.
