Before we even start with ideas with this years Valentine's Celebrations Ideas, lets visit the past and see how was the experience.
Please remember there is no right or wrong way of celebrating your day. It's all in our minds. Don't get mad at your valentine if you see no enthusiasm about the day or don't even get jealous by seeing other couple enjoying like anything. It's all YOUR DAY and about both of you. This is my most favorite. You know Likes and Dislikes of Your Valentine By Now, (I hope). Won't it be great to surprise him/her with special messages you drafted with your hands? Plant those messages secretly at the areas where they are most likely to visit... the handbag, the purse, the diary, What else?.. You know for your Valentine. You can number the messages and ask / challenge to hunt all the messages by the end of the day. Along with each message you can describe the qualities you adore, any confessions you have to make... Please, please no drama here.. Just emotional talks. Nothing to make sad, guilty etc. Be yourself and convey... dear I have been thinking to express this to you... Go on, be original. You have plenty time. Think about all the good qualities, how blessed you feel by sharing the relationship, write it down. Wear your creative hat. If you feel hand written notes are little dry ones, try grabbing some colors and make colorful card of simply get few from stores below.

Everybody loves surprises. I love. How about getting up little early and preparing breakfast for entire family, of course your Valentine included? I know if you do this daily, regularly... You would love if your Valentine surprise you with that. No worries, somehow direct him/her to this post :) If you decide to surprise in your daily activities, how can you do that? I mean, agreed that you prepare the breakfast daily. What can you do so that everybody just says WOW... Ok. Think and I'll present another Wow effect idea... How about getting up early and doing the exercise together? Is that both of yours a daily routine? If so, again ask the question.. What can I do something today that will get the expression... Wow. It's Sunday on Feb 14th 2010. Think about all the daily activities and try adding Wow Effect in each... right from getting up.
A note: Don't try to be perfectionist. The idea is to do something. I try to get perfect and do nothing at the end.

Again, It's Sunday... Don't miss the opportunity of being together all the day. How about booking a resort where you are away from all the distractions including cell phone, iphone, laptop, blackberry, blueberry (just kidding...). Sometimes I wonder is life possible without these gadgets? Am I addicted to these tools? Sometimes I even find myself checking the mails, even though it's absolutely not necessary. How about planning a day like this. Book some resort. Plan the vacation. Break loose, Slip Away. Enjoy the silence near the beach, just sit, relax. If that's too cold, enjoy the spa in the resort.
The outing option is purely #3 since it's Sunday.

Now this is getting easier. Gifts are great as idea. You can give the gift that will be remembered for entire life. How about gifting something which will be treasure for lifetime... or at least till next valentine's day? The only downside I find with the gift is that, you can not enjoy it together. Also you are not sure if gift is liked by the other person. You may get a response just not to break your heart. Of course, the more you are close, and share intimate relationship, better and clear response you will get. Are you ready for that? I am moody person... sometimes I expect a clear response and sometimes I can not digest the clear response... Hahaha.
Couple of gift ideas: 1.) A frame with the name or family photo. I know you will have tons of such photos... so what's creative in that?.. How about a photo Montage?
2.) Flower, flowers or variety of flowers. This is the age old gift or technique of expression. However it is appreciated. In fact, I got this feedback from my wife... "Well, a woman may not want something very expensive... But she would certainly want something done with great emotions, sentiment. And even a single flower can do that.".. Hehehe.. Good for me :) I always spend more time on creating something by putting my time, emotio9ns and creativity. It always works for me.
3.) Enquire something your Valentine is looking for since few day / months and postponing for some reason. It can be gr8 surprise. May be a book, movie, or show. Hey, do you know Celtic Woman show is scheduled in March in Boston? Check out and buy tickets of such event and hand it over at the most precious moment of the day. It can be even some game.
4.) Would you like to gift some gift card with a spa membership or massage treat? Or something with a note... "All Yours, Choose anything". Can you dare to hand over the card with NO LIMITS and test the limits of your honey?... You better try that and convey if you were surprised or shocked? Also clarify, Surprised if he/she doesn't purchase too expensive or shocked by that.
Must Read Hint for HerIf you are planning to purchase something for HIM, better let him know about that. He may say that he is not interested in it any more...especially when HE tried purchasing that and YOU didn't allow or encourage :(
5.) Chocolate: All women love chocolate... there is no secret in it. You can also find bouquets from wrapped chocolate. Check if you are a calorie conscious person. How about baskets of delicious strawberries dipped in milk chocolate?
6.)Jewellery: All that glitters is not gold... But all that glitters is loved by women all over the world. It is a treasure for every woman. Plan something. Make sure you know her taste and what may suite her. Well if you venture into something she doesn't like, she will still be happy BUT may not wear it too often.
Guys are happy with little Don't think too hard to find something special. Favorite team jersey, a nice watch, a pair of new sneakers, sports bottle with team picture or a coffee cup. In fact your favorite colonge chosen for him... are some of the good things I can think of. I hope my wife reads this :)

Although Valentine's Day is supposed to be Only For Two..., two can not be without their families. If you have kids plan something special with them. If you are with parents, make sure to surprise them by arranging some trip for them. If needed going all family together. There is more joy in sacrifice, giving. Please, please, please check with yourValentine before you plan to make any such decision.
Friends invited at home is also common. Chill out. But somehow I feel being together is more pleasurable. This day is for you... Only for you two.

This may not hit someone too hard, however I feel this could be biggest emotional part in your life. There are always moments when you want to express your love BUT some but came into your way. It could be something usual like you get caught up in daily routine, or you were too busy at that moment or anything. So why not do something like this...
Tomorrow early morning or when ever you are at the peak of your positive emotions, go out to some remote place... in a very nice, cozy place with your digital camera, recorder, handycam or whatever you can get for recording... like your mobile phone. Think about what you want to convey, get little bit emotional and speak up. Look in the camera and express with pure heart. It can be whatever number of minutes.
Howz that idea? ... Just a warning for Scorpio persons... don't take this opportunity as a way to express something negative which you had been remembering since long. If you want to clear it up, do it upfront, face to face. This video will be cherished for life time and you don't want to make your Valentines cry or trigger guilty feelings when he/she watches that video every time. Am I right?

Guys, I had a light bulb moment... Ask yourself this question... What do she like to do, she wants from you?.
For me, it's my time... and patience. I rarely recall that we had been out to a mall, and came back without fighting. And fights are on very small issues... You never suggest me what should I buy, You never praise me for any item I pick up just to see How I look.
Will you ever stop getting bored while I do my shopping... even though many a times it's a window shopping. Or this last one.. a big one for me... You never let me buy something which I like for you. and your choice is always an old fashioned ... 5 years back.

To be very honest, for me it is the most boring part. Just walk from store to store and try out things and return :) Trully I can't really stand that much of time. If you are on the same boat...shall we dare to change it this Valentine's day.. Just for a day please :)
I promise MYSELF that I will take her out for shopping to mall. I will take interest in her shopping. I will SUGGEST her any item if I really liked. I will make a judgement call and force her to purchase something if she likes BUT hesitates to buy due to price tag. I will have her buy something for myself too.

Guys, Gals, I have run out of ideas. You suggest any creative ideas and I will append those. I am not putting crazy ideas. I am putting only the things which I/We can implement.

The problems of Haiti Earthquake are multitude. The whole world has gathered together. Haiti Relief Operations are in progress. However they still need help. We can not physically go there and volunteer. However if we open our hearts, we can still do lots of things... donations is just one of the things. There are families who have planned for Haiti Adoption. I ask myself a question...What am I going to do?
