INTRO TO MY TOP 100 FOREIGN FILMS LIST...
Writing a lens on top 100 foreign films is a very personal experience for me because I just don't watch foreign movies, I spend hours thinking about every detail of a scene that moved me. And I honestly think that many of our greatest films, the very best movies in cinematic history - actually are these foreign language films that have originated outside Hollywood, for instance in Europe. Thoughts and debates welcome, but I learned to appreciate that language in our regular sense is a pretty imperfect medium of communication. These top foreign films have taught me to transcend the flimsy barriers of these "localized" mediums that I was so very much "used to". Wherever there are humans, there are stories...and music...and emotions...and talent to create wonders on celluloid! And us, the fortunate beholders! So here goes my list of top 100 foreign films...enjoy!
~ Cheers!

- Great list! I saw few from these movies, and my favourite movie director is Luis Bunuel, and the best movie I ever saw was Los Olvidados. I used to go a cinemagoer club during the highschool, and there I had the opportunuty to watch great movies.
I bookmarked the page .. because I found great suggestions here .... and because I saw you are a real cinemagoer... I want to ask you something..
In the past I saw a great movie ..it was not an american one ..made in 70-80 I guess... about a guy who has a prisoner in his dreams... And the guy (was a silhouette) from his dream was hunting him and his wife... At the end of the movie he was at the doctor with his wife and then he discovered that he was also in somebodyelse dream.
I think the name of the movie was Crazy ...but I'm not sure.... So please if you know about what movie I'm talking tell the name and the country to find it. I asked on many forums but I didn't get any answer.
Thank you!

- Great lens. I recognized and have watched quite a few of them, but it looks like I need to get busy and watch some more. Thanks!

- Wow there is a lot on this page, it actually could have been two lenses...I really love these foreign films. I learned English going to the movies and then mom would take us to foreign films, my favorite were the French films..The Italian film always hurt my head, because I could never figure out what was going on.

- Wow, I've actually seen a few of these films... back when I lived in a city that had "alternative" movie houses. Have you seen the movie "Z" directed by Costa-Gavras?
