great list of movies. I really like Run Lola Run.
  • anusk1313 Oct 1, 2011 @ 7:09 am | delete
Great list! I saw few from these movies, and my favourite movie director is Luis Bunuel, and the best movie I ever saw was Los Olvidados. I used to go a cinemagoer club during the highschool, and there I had the opportunuty to watch great movies.

I bookmarked the page .. because I found great suggestions here .... and because I saw you are a real cinemagoer... I want to ask you something..

In the past I saw a great movie ..it was not an american one ..made in 70-80 I guess... about a guy who has a prisoner in his dreams... And the guy (was a silhouette) from his dream was hunting him and his wife... At the end of the movie he was at the doctor with his wife and then he discovered that he was also in somebodyelse dream.

I think the name of the movie was Crazy ...but I'm not sure.... So please if you know about what movie I'm talking tell the name and the country to find it. I asked on many forums but I didn't get any answer.

    Thank you!

Very nice lens - but what do you consider to be a "foreign" film ? Many of your readers live in countries other than the USA - I'm in England, no doubt "foreign" to you, whereas you are foreign to me !

Well, I thought Fudge 44 was a film that made you really think about how different cultures influence our own, even without us realising it and so is probably one of the less obvious but most powerful foreign films. I don't agree with what everyone said abou the ethics of the voiceover. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jac2-XMGd1w
  • Tipi Jul 30, 2010 @ 11:16 am | delete

Very nice work, Meredith! It's plain to see that you spent quite a bit of time on this, and the result is just beautiful. VERY pleasant on the eyes, for sure. The film reviews were also very well done. Many of the films covered here were new to me, but the reviews made me want to check them out. And by the way, I'm following you on twitter!

Beautifully presented lens, excellent format and coverage of topic! That said, also feel content is too much overload for a Squidoo lens, meant to only be an intro to a larger piece. While the page is a beaut, also takes a VERY long time to load...mine is still loading ... loading...so I skimmed through and saw plenty of awesome content and consistent format throughout.
Doubt many would wait as long as it might take to finish loading in entirety. I thought of using same water-movement kind of background once, but was warned of long loading time. That combined with the sheer number of reviews and vids here will definitely create such a huge load to likely detract from what you had hoped to accomplish, make sense?
You might want to consider breaking this gorgeous content down to an assortment of smaller lenses to make it work. Best to YOU! 5*s anyway, given excellence in content and format, even though mine is STILL working hard on trying to LOAD the overload.
  • Obscure_Treasures Dec 15, 2009 @ 10:25 pm | delete
Thanks much for the comment. I also think its suffering from speed and info overload. Will try to find a way to break it down. Thanks again for stopping by.

    Cheers,

What a lot of work you have put into this lens!

My husband and I love to watch Foreign Films. They give a different perspective on life than what you find in Hollywood films.

Thank you for introducing us to some new films that we are anxious to see.
