Walking into a Babies R Us for the first time can be as scary as navigating the Congo. You are going to see new and exciting things and a few that are a tad on the frightening side. The look on your husbands face the first time he sees a breast pump is priceless. There are literally thousands of products to choose from. Here is a guide to help you find the Top 10 must-have baby products, and don't worry no one will get hurt!

The Diaper Genie II 

Yes there have been many jokes about the Diaper Genie but you really, really need one. Having the bathroom smell like baby poop 24/7 is not cool, especially when you have company. I like this model for it's ease of use and capacity. I usually change it 3 or 4 times a week.

The Boppy 

No this is not a new dance move. The Boppy is a soft horseshoe shaped pillow that has tons of uses. Use it for cradling your baby, support for breast-feeding and it's also great when your baby is learning to sit and hold a bottle. As a bonus dad can also use it as headrest.

A Stroller 

This is a must have. I like having 2. A full sized model like the Graco Quattro Tour and an Umbrella Stroller. Both serve very important functions. Your full-size stroller will accommodate an infant car seat (be sure you getting a matching set) and is essential for day trips like the zoo. These strollers have padding, big wheels for stability and things like a cup holder for mom. The umbrella stroller is great for short trips and walks. It's usually best for babies over 6 months old.

A Paci (Pacifier for those not yet familiar with the lingo yet) 

OK You need a lot of Pacies to pacify a crying baby! I prefer the Mam brand. They come in really cool colors and patterns. Get the silicone nipple, it will last a lot longer.

A Bouncer 

I didn't get one against my mother's advice. Big mistake. I immediately remedied that with the Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer. Babies love the colorful toys and the soothing music.

Clothes! 

Your baby will need the following clothes. 5-7 Sleepers, 10-12 Onsies, 8-10 Burp Rags (to protect the clothes), 1-2 "Out" Outfits. In the first few months of life your baby will live in the sleeper. Yes, babies look cute in jeans but they are just not practical. The Sleeper is your friend!

The Pack N Play PlayYard 

Otherwise known as the bassinet. A little advice, you will never use the changing table that comes with the PlayYard. It's awkward and clumsy and nearly impossible to use. So save some money and just get the basic model with a bassinet. These are awesome for your babies first few weeks in your bedroom. Later they are a nice playpen. I like the Graco model.

Keys 

Babies like keys. Rather then give them the dirty set to your Ford buy about 10 sets of inexpensive baby keys. They do get lost so having extras just makes sense. They will provide a least an hour of entertaiment.

Hey, what a great lens! So agree about the baby bouncer - make sure it is not too upright as I had two and both of them the babies kind of rolled out. When they are angled more back, the babies absolutely LOVE them!
