The Never Ending Vacation....I Wish
Here you can follow my travel adventures. I have a passion for travel. I think they call it wanderlust. And I want to share it with you. Vacations to the islands are for relaxation and personal growth for me. It enriches my knowledge of how other people live, laugh, love and eat. A time to relax and learn another way to live, slow and easy. To learn and grow from observing other cultures. It is also a time of discovery to do something I would not normally do. Time to seek out adventure and throw away the cares of the world....at least for a little while.

ST.Thomas Diving Adventure For The Not So Adventurous

Who does not love the calm blue waters of the Caribbean? But I have been limited to swimming and snorkeling close to shore due to a fear of deep water. But one recent summer I decided to set myself free...well sort of. I have previously considered getting diver training while on vacation. Which many vacationers probably do safely. But I don't trust that I would follow through on such short notice. So I think I will stick to my goal of attending traditional diving school.
The answer for me was The Atlantis Submarine in St. Thomas U.S.V.I.. Where I could plunge to deep depths like Jacques Cousteau ...well sort of. But in the safe confines of a submarine. And no, it is not like the Disneyland Submarine ride, it's a real one. The day of the trip I started to think of a million reasons I could not go. But go I did and I have no regrets. I have longed to see under the sea from somewhere besides Coral World or in front of my TV set. Wow!! Beautiful sea and plant life in amazing color. Each time I saw a school of Yellow Snapper fish go by, all I could think of was eating...go figure! That was interesting. Well once I got the thought of food off my mind I could enjoy their beauty and grace. I recommend this adventure to everyone.
The team of Atlantis is professional and the company boasts an excellent safety record. I could tell you more but that might ruin the surprises. So try this yourself. Or try something that has been holding you back personally. GO AHEAD, LIVE A LITTLE.
Atlantis Submarine leaving St. Thomas
After 24 years the Atlantis Submarine is leaving St. Thomas USVI on May 31st 2009. Due to low tourism. Hope they return when the economy improves. You can still experience this unforgettable adventure in Hawaii and other Caribbean destinations like Aruba, Barbados, St. Martin, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, etc.

- Great start to this lens and a great topic, 5***** Looking forward to many more travel stories. If you do manage to overcome the fear of deep water, I really do recommend learning to scuba dive, it's wonderful. Just imagine kneeling on the sea bed, 30 feet down (or less), while dozens or even hundreds of fish gather around you and eat out of your hand. It's truly an amazing experience.

How tough is it to get to the Virgin Islands, and book on the Sub?
