    What about Sully Erna (Godsmack) and Layne Staley (Alice in Chains)? They are not my favourite but their voices are also amazing :) For me the best vocalist is of course Freddie Mercury. I also admire James Maynard Keenan as Tool's my favourite band :)
    Anyway, great ranking!!

    Only thing that bothered me with the list is that my favorite vocalist, Serj Tankian is not even on there :/. He has incredible vocal range it is mind-blowing and his diversity in music is also pretty awesome.

    Really excellent list, probably the best I've seen of rock vocalists. You missed Don Dokken, he's quite talented as well. Did I see Dio or not?. However, I wouldn't put Bon Jovi before Freddie Mercury or Elvis. I'd probably put Elvis as #1. But you hit almost every great singer I love. Nice job! Congratulations for your excellent taste.

    I boosted my faves, of course. Thanks so much for including Janis Joplin. She really opened the door for the lady rockers who followed her. Plus she was amazing, IMHO.

    uhm... one of mine wasn't on the list, but I voted for the other 3, and hey, Bowie was there, so I'm happy! *rushes off to pull out my collection of Bowie records/tapes/CDs/books/etc* Love Bowie!

    Freddie is worshipped worldwide. He was a global entertainer, a true performer and really knew how to get he crowd involved. He was a master vocalist and I miss him dearly. :(
