Celebrity Puppet :: Topo Gigio
Topo Gigio was a prominent figure in American primetime TV in the 1960s. And that is a pretty good accomplishment for being only ten inches tall!
Topo Gigio, a.k.a. 'The Little Italian Mouse', was a regular puppet segment featured on the hit TV variety show 'The Ed Sullivan Show' from 1963, through the final episode in 1971.
This eight ounce (of foam, that is) puppet would always leave the show by saying, "Keesa me goo'night, Eddie."
And would get a kiss on the cheek from Ed Sullivan every time.
