This is not fair! I haven't eaten my evening meal yet and had intended to be home for the remainder of the day. However, I see some of these recipes and I want to rush to the store to buy tomatoes. Decisions, decisions. Need I say job well done? :)

People who make their own tomato sauce are my heroes. I also like to toss drained, spiced stewed tomatoes in with sauteed small red or black beans and serve with pita.

Hey, Great recipes, about the tomato soup, the more green herbs you add, the better it becomes, try adding dill, green onion and celery, also add 1/2 a cup of rice,
    It becomes amazing

The tomato stackers sounds good very creative, and the quote by George Miller made me laugh! I have made tomato sauce from scratch, but for some reason it comes out a bit to tangy for me. I discovered if you add a teaspoon or two of sugar it helps.
    Great lens,

Love your lens. Would you add "I just Love ALL tomatoes" to your poll?

For Blossom end rot, a friend suggested sprinkling powdered milk on the soil. I did it and it seems to have worked. My tomatoes are in pots. The best areas of sun in my yard are not where I can plant them. I am also crushing up egg shells to mix with the soil.

5 stars from me and a lensroll to one of my lenses!

Don't forget about the health benefits of tomatoes. These include the following:

There are many health benefits from eating natural grown tomatoes. They contain compounds which are proven to help prevent heart disease, cancer, and cataracts just to name a few.

Tomatoes contain large quantities of Vitamin C providing up to 40% of the RDI (Recommended Daily Intake), up to 20% RDI for Vitamin A, 8% RDI of Potassium, and between 7 - 10 % RDI of Iron.

The red colouring of the tomato is called Lycopene. It is a type of carotenoid anti-oxidant that has been found to contain up to twice the punch of more well known anti-oxidant beta-carotene. Lycopene has been found to offer some protection against a growing list of cancers which include prostate cancer in men, breast cancer in woman, pancreatic, endometrial and lung cancer.

Recent research is beginning to show that 2 other compounds found in tomatoes may help to fight lung cancer as well. Coumaric acid and chlorogenic acid are

Better than ice cream! Used to carry a salt shaker in our hip pocket, through the 'mater patch lookin' for a just-ripe one. Let it drop into our hand with a touch, bite a piece of skin off and spit it out, pour a little salt on the juicy spot and gnarsh into it. Slurpy good.
