Traffic Exchanges Bring Floods of Traffic

Everyone builds a website with the expectation that you will have, in the next few days, a flood of traffic to your website, visitors who are willing and ready to buy your products and services, read your witty and wise remarks, and make your site the raging success you want it to be.

Unfortunately, that rarely happens.

With many millions of websites on the World Wide Web, new sites may have difficulty in attracting the thousands of visitors every month that will make a site successful.

It is much easier to build a site than it is to get people to (1) learn about it, (2) visit and see what it is about, (3) make it a part of their routine activities by visiting on a regular basis, and (4) (best of all) telling their friends to come visit, too.

So, how do you get a flood of regular visitors to your site?

There are many ways.

This lens presents traffic exchanges as one way to get more visitors to your site. I welcome your comments.

Please sign our guest book at the bottom of the page and tell me what you think.

Do this before you forget...

If you haven't already joined Soaring4Traffic, do it now. Then, add your IDs to the traffic exchanges downline builder and set up your surf center. It will make your regular exchange surfing easier to manage. It helped me.

Learn how to use traffic exchanges effectively

Traffic exchanges are effective if used correctly.

However, most people do not use them effectively.

If you are showing a sales page, your blog, a catalog, or any other slow-loading page that offers more than one thing to do, it won't work.

You only have 5 - 10 seconds to get someone's attention and to have them perform your most wanted response.

One of the best things you can do is capture your visitors contact information by enticing them to subscribe to your mailing list or join a program that builds downlines.

After they join, you no longer have just 10 seconds, you can contact them multiple times over days or even months and offer them valuable information on how to accomplish what they want with their websites and businesses.

You want to build a relationship, not just make a sale.

Yes! They're great for promoting your websites, banners, and text links.

TrafficKing says:

If you know how to use them, they are very effective indeed!

Traffic Specialist says:

Iam big traffic exchange user the real secret is to build downlines within the exchanges now we can,t have everybody doing that so thats why it is a secret because when you build downlines you don,t have to surf as eventually your downline builds your credits plus don,t forget the comms as well I have been at it for over 10 years. If everybody copied me nobody would surf and my o websites would not be seen.

Us short splash pages and use for list buidling via autoresponder.

isladigital says:

Hello to everyone!!

When using traffic exchanges you must know certain things. These things are: How would you be credited for generating the traffic, what content to use for the page your visitors will be seeing. The information must short, concise and to the point. It's better to have your visitors opt-in to your mailing list. Please check out my lens moving_images. I am running a contest for artist, animators, and special effects technician. You can showcase your talent, get credit for your work, and a little money too.

I run forumfinderplus, a traffic exchange on the VS-TrEX network of exchanges, unfortunately they were hacked a few weeks ago and it has never came back online yet.

I don't care for a manual exchange, I don't have the time to deal with one.

lilshann says:

I have never actually used one but am interested in trying them and seeing how well they work for me! I know people who have had success using them.

journeyenterprises says:

Traffic exchanges are helping to build my home based business. I highly reccommend. www.journeyenterprisessite.com

millionairelady says:

They are great for getting people to see your website, the text ad exchange are good also.

mompowereddreams says:

As A Traffic Exchange Owner, I Would Say YES! That Is Part Of Why I Started My Own. I Knew The Power Of Them And Know That Traffic Exchanges OWN The Advertising World And The Best Way To Survive In This Biz Is To Have One Yourself Or Use As Many TE's As You Can Get Your Hands On. Truly My Own Exchange Wouldn't Be Where Its At For Being So New Without Other Traffic Exchanges.

Godfried says:

Traffic Exchange can be done in many different ways. I would like to invite you to take a look at Scoutle.com which in a way, uses traffic exchange to promote your website and connect to interesting users. Take a look at www.scoutle.com I'd say!

CatHeiter says:

Absolutely. You just need to know how to use them in the most effective way.

No! They aren't worth the trouble.

WApinoy says:

I have tried them before including auto exchange but the traffic you get from them if at all is not worth the time. Better to optimized your lens than using them.

honeydog says:

Pretty much a total waste of time.

Laura says:

They have worked at getting me traffic but nothing more then that, maybe my site needs help at keeping my visitors there.

Learn how to use traffic exchanges

Dan Moses, owner of several traffic exchanges and services for online marketers, wrote a free report about traffic exchanges called Click Thru Marketing System that is well worth reading by experienced traffic exchange surfers and is almost "must reading" for anyone who is new to traffic exchange services.

Although the report is several years old, it still contains very useful information about a few of the top traffic exchanges.

How to use a traffic exchange?

When used wrong, traffic exchanges can be a huge waste of time and energy.

How do you use a traffic exchange incorrectly?

Link directly to a blog or website - unless you just happen to show it to someone with particular interest in your site, nobody is going to stick around long enough to read it.

Link to a page with your Adsense ads - this can, and probably will, cause Google to cancel your Adsense account. It is a direct violation of their terms of service. Don't lose something that can earn you thousands of dollars!

Link to a sales page - it is unlikely that you will make a sale in 10 to 30 seconds.

Link to a page that takes forever to load - you have a few seconds to catch someone's attention, don't waste it by having a page that takes so long to load that nobody ever sees it in the exchange.

How do you use traffic exchanges correctly?

Brand yourself - don't use the standard pages that are provided to all affiliates, create pages that brand yourself first, and then you can bring your visitors to your other pages over time. How?

Build your mailing list - everyone says that the money is in the list, but many of us wasted months or years by not making that our top priority. Traffic exchanges are great for gathering leads, and one of the best ways is to get the viewer to subscribe to your mailing list. How?

Use lead capture splash pages - Create pages that load fast, have your email subscribe form, and brand yourself. Capture those leads when you can, on traffic exchanges, on your blogs, on your websites, on social networking sites, and here on Squidoo.

If someone is interested enough to join your list, they may eventually be interested enough to become a client or customer.

Traffic Exchanges

Bring more visitors to your site

Last year (2008), I was a member of about 50 or so traffic exchanges and I surfed them now and then.

I was an upgraded member of about a dozen traffic exchanges and tried to surf them daily.

This year, 2009, I have focused my attention on the sites that work best for me. Just because they work well for me is not an indication they will work well for you. We may have different ideas, plans, and goals.

I'm not saying the other traffic exchanges don't work, I'm just saying that these are the ones that work best for me.

The links below are to sites I use regularly and recommend to you. I am an upgraded member in these traffic exchanges and urge you to upgrade, too. Get the most of your marketing efforts.

Really useful lens John. Surprised not to see Traffic Witch or Traffic Taxis on the list though. Both are providing me with better results than some of those you mention. Good to see others getting out the word about the exchanges though. I find they're either used incorrectly or highly underrated by many.

You must be asking yourself "Are Traffic Exchanges worth my time?" Simply put, all TE's will bring traffic to your sites or any advertisements. But you must build rapport with your members, show them via webinars all the "how to, the tips & tricks" and how they too can benefit from surfing for free so to build traffic for themselves. Remember, for those that just don't have the time to surf there are always upgrade options so surfing is done at a minimum.

I personally will hold weekly webinar virtual meetings so that you can watch my screen and I yours to ensure you are getting the most out of your FREE membership with PutinOnTheHits.com.
