Training Pitbull Puppies Should Start As Soon As Possible

Waiting too long to begin training your Pitbull puppy can be a serious error in judgement. In our case, Laura and I simply did not know any better.

Unfortunately, "Rocco" had developed many annoying, and potentially dangerous habits. He was prone to jumping up at me when I came home from work. At 55 lbs, that was quite a greeting that I got!

Pitbulls are VERY loving and congenial to humans, however, because of their size and strength, their "affection" can be dangerous and annoying.

Laura and I learned that training Pitbull puppies should begin as early as 8 weeks!

Pitbulls are extremely sociable dogs, especially with humans. Unfortunately, many Pitbull owners leave their dogs chained up and isolated.

This is VERY damaging to the disposition of a Pitbull. When Laura and I were learning abouttraining Pitbull puppies we discovered that Pitbulls need to mingle with other dogs and humans at a young age.

Failure to do so may leave a Pitbull owner with an anti social dog. Particularly with regard to other dogs. By all means, take your Pitbull puppy to dog parks, or areas commonly frequented by other dogs.

Training Pitbull Puppies- Bonus Tips

In our learning, Laura and I discovered that Pitbulls of all ages need PLENTY of exercise. If you are unable to provide adequate space for your dog to roam, or take on frequent walks, a Pitbull is probably not the dog for you.

When training Pitbull puppies, it is difficult to determine who is getting more exercise, the owner or the dog!

The real key to success in training Pitbull puppies is to start the training while they are very young. The longer you delay, the harder the process becomes.
