Yorkie Puppies without a daily schedule are Yorkie Puppies that wont listen. Training Yorkie puppies involves setting a consistent daily schedule.

This includes sleeping, eating, playing, giving attention when you want to, potty training etc.

It is not cruel for you to teach your Yorkie that you are the dominant one, in fact your Yorkie will be much happier knowing his role, it is part of the pack mentality that Yorkie puppies natural instincts rely on and essential to their training.

Some tips:
Don't allow Yorkie puppies to eat before their owners.

Don't allow Yorkie puppies on high places, sitting on your bed or your
chair, keep the puppy at a lower level than you.

Don't allow Yorkie puppies into your bedroom

Don't leave Yorkie puppies toys out all the time, limit the access.

You must have daily training session for your Yorkie puppies to
establish a routine.

Don't clean up any Yorkie puppies poop in front of the puppy, if the puppy accidentally poops in the home, this will lower your dominance and is key if your Yorkie puppies training method is to be effective.

If you punish your puppy or shout at him for pottying in the home, he will become scared and embarrassed. He may start to potty behind the furniture or pot plants as he tries to hide away.

Build potty training into the Yorkie's daily schedule. Take him out to potty when he wakes up, when he's eaten, after you play with him or after you come home from work etc. Look out for signs when your Yorkie is ready to potty like sniffing, circling or scratching at the back door.

One of the common mistakes owners make while giving their Yorkie puppies training is to call the puppies name out loud if the puppy starts to potty in the house. This is the worst thing you can do, as it only re-enforces to the puppy to do more potty in the house.

Instead, clap your hands loudly and take the puppy outside to be patient. Then give lots of praise once he's done potty in the desired location.

It always best to start your Yorkie puppies training within the home and progress to outside on his walks. Training Yorkie puppies with a whistle involves:

1. Go buy a whistle that both your puppy and you can both hear

2. Take your puppies meal, break it into small portions, with someone holding the puppy, walk away a small distance with the meal portion. Then call the puppy and blow the whistle, when he comes over give him the meal and pet him.

3. Repeat the previous step for approximately 1 week.

4. When you puppy understands that hearing the whistle means come here 100% of the time, you are ready to progress with your Yorkie puppies training and take him to the park.

5. In the park use the whistle throughout the time to recall the puppy and not only when you leave, other wise your puppy will not respond as he does not want to leave.

As you can see when training yorkie puppies it is a step by step progression, remember the saying 'inch by inch its a cinch' doing a little each day is the key.
