Treatment to Anorexia

Is there treatment to anorexia & bulimia? if you have ever suffered through an eating disorder or lived through a family member with the disease, you know how devastating it can be. For years I watched my child suffer from bulimia....well into her adult years. The struggle she went through to overcome her eating disorder went on for years. But...there is hope. She finally overcame her bulimia (although she says it is always there inside). We built this lens so that others might have a place to talk about their eating disorder and share their experience.

Personally we found a lot of help here: Anorexia and Bulimia Treatments.

When we first realized our daughter was bulimic we just didn't believe it.   Bulimia is like an addiction.  There are lies told and desperate measures taken to achieve certain goals.  One of the BEST books we have seen dealing with the subject can be easily downloaded from the internet.  It's called  "Mom Please Help".  Whether it's you OR a family member, this book can change your life.

Treatment to Anorexia - Does My Child Have an Eating Disorder?

Comments like "Mom, I am so fat!", "I need to lose weight!" even if the body is already too skinny is something that every parent should be alarmed about. People, especially teenagers from ages 11 to 20 begin to become so self- conscious of their weight. Slowly developing the obsession to lose and lose although there is nothing left to lose, this uncontrollable urge spells out a serious eating disorder that is detrimental to every part of the person's life.

People with eating disorders have a distorted view of themselves and their body. Even when the body is extremely thin, sagging and unhealthy, still, there are frustrating remarks of dissatisfaction of being "fat and bloated".

What about having the exact opposite scenario? When your child tends to eat too much, obsessively taking a major eating binge over a short period, not noticing the obvious weight gain and still feels good about everything, then it is high time to hit the alarm button!

When you either begin to notice your child's drastic changes, in weight loss or in weight gain, do not ignore these warning signs! Being alert in checking out the symptoms of eating disorder and doing something about it is a challenge!

Do something today and fight these unhealthy eating patterns. It takes your warmth and understanding to stand- by your child's battle with this life- threatening eating disorder. Talking and consulting with someone, an expert in the field is a great help. Spare your loved one from physical, emotional and psychological damage that eating disorders can wreak and help turn things around!

The Much-Needed Anorexic Help

"Health is wealth" is such a common cliche yet it becomes more real, emphatic and most precious when you practically see someone's body waste away because of Anorexia. Have you ever wondered why someone who used to just have a regular body weight becomes so vain and conscious and day by day losing as much pounds by denying some food into the body?

Why sacrifice one's most precious health? Isn't it an irony that one's wealth has to be nurtured, preserved and taken cared of and the exact opposite is consequently done?

Anorexia is a condition that says " fatso, fatso... you gotta lose wait... fatso", although in truth and in fact, the body is already weakened and dehydrated. What appears in front of the mirror is a fat being, yet the actual person reflects a forlorn and worn-out body.

There are early signs of anorexia. The denial and hate for food is such an obvious sign. Do not ignore these signs. There is no harm in going through some diet regimen to lose weight. Just know the limits. Anorexic Help is available and be sure to get one when you cannot handle it yourself.
