Trio Tango en Vos - a new twist on tango

"Trio Tango en Vos" distinguishes itself by the synthesis of the musicians` classical education with the authentic folk music repertoire of South America. Their repertoire includes works by composers including Alfredo Lepera, Carlos Gardel, Mariano Mores, Cesar Iscella, Astor Piazzolla, among others. Their style impresses not only the critics but also the most discerning audiences.

Silvia Funes, lyric soprano, was born in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina. She studies voice in Europe and appears regularly in concert with the "Salzburg Kammersolisten" and the "Salzburger Konzertgesellschaft". She has also appeared in concert as a soloist with the orchestras "Donau Philharmonie Wien", "Deutschen Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein", "Salzburg Chamber Soloists" and in her native country with the "Orquesta de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo" and in various operas. She is continuing her voice education as a scholarship recipient studying with the great Italian tenor Antonio Garangello. She is currently completing her post-graduate studies at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and teaching voice at the "Musikschule Kufstein", Austria.

Mag. Raúl Funes was also born in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina. He studied guitar at the "Universidad nacional de Cuyo" where he graduated with high honours and was awarded the national prize for the best musical interpreter of the country. He continued his education and received his master's degree at the University Mozarteum Salzburg with the internationally renowned American guitarist Eliot Fisk. He has appeared as a soloist with the "Orquesta de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo", the "Salzburg Quartett", "Universitätorchester Tirol", "Symphony Orchestra Rio de Janeiro, Brazil", among others. He has performed with various ensembles in renowned concert halls in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Chile. He is currently teaching at the "Musikschule Innsbruck", Austria.

Mag. Nelson Díaz was born in Bogotá, Columbia. He studied with Prof. Lavard Skou-Larson and graduated from the University Mozarteum Salzburg. For the last ten years, he has been an active member of the chamber orchestras "Salzburg KammerPhilharmonie" and "Salzburg Chamber Solists", where he has been the concert master, soloist, and currently leads the second violins. In November 2006 he acted as concert master of the "Salzburg KammerPhilharmonie" when they accompanied the "Buena Vista Social Club" - la Diva Omara Potuondo - at the "Festspielhaus Salzburg".
