Triumph Motorcycles

Ranked #1,501 in Cars, #82,828 overall

Triumph Motorcycles. The absolute best motorcycles EVER built. Triumph motorcycles have been in continuous production longer than any other motorcycle company on the planet. That includes Harley Davidson. Triumph started building motorcycles (as Triumph) in 1902. HD, started in 1904. Contrary to popular belief, Triumph never did go out of business, nor did they ever stop production of the world's greatest motorcycles. They did file bankruptcy at one point, but was bought by John Bloor who kept the company going without ever stopping production. Now, not only is Triumph still in business, they are better than ever. The newest Triumph motorcycle line-up includes the Speedmaster, America, Thunderbird, Rocket III, Thruxton, Scrambler, Daytona 675, Tiger, Sprint, Speed Triple and Street Triple.

Triumph, Over 100 years old, still going strong and getting better with each passing model year.

2009 Triumph Speedmaster

With its dark, brooding lines and a pared-down hot-rod essence, the Speedmaster is a standout middleweight cruiser from every angle. Punchy 865cc engine, mean looks and souped-up chassis - the Speedmaster is the very essence of an old-school street-rod, packing performance and style into one very individual motorcycle.

The riding position supports and 'cups' the rider into the gunslinger seat ready to launch at the horizon. Upper fork shrouds add even more style, while high risers mount the flat 'drag' handlebars on the slab-style top yoke and match the chromed forward set footpegs.

The Speedmaster's new seamless, teardrop-shaped tank gives larger capacity and looks great with its chromed badges and hand painted coach lines.

At the heart of the Speedmaster lies an 865cc, air-cooled, fuel injected, DOHC, parallel twin engine with a 270º firing interval. Peak power of 61bhp arrives at 6800rpm, with maximum torque of 55ft.lbf available at just 3300rpm.

2008 Triumph Rocket III Tourer

Authentic custom-touring style with all new frame, wheels, tank, lights, bars and footboards. Suspension tuned for touring provides sumptuous ride quality. Low seat and centre of gravity makes for easy handling. Full size quick release screen, huge 36 litre panniers, and clean as a whistle shaft drive help you arrive relaxed yet ready to go.

What does it have in common with the rest of the rocket III family? the astonishing 2.3 litre triple engine. Effortless overtakes, solo or fully loaded. And the cornering ability of a bike half its size lets you glide through the bends.

The new Rocket III Touring, tuned to go the distance.

The Rocket III Touring shares the same engine platform as the Rocket III. Its increased torque at low speeds means that even two-up and fully laden it will accelerate effortlessly for easy overtaking. The engine management system uses sensors to determine the correct fuelling and ignition and tailors the torque curve for each gear ratio. As a result the Rocket III Touring responds quickly, cleanly and strongly at any speed, in any gear.

The color-matched, hard bags come as standard and are lockable using the ignition key. They are quick to detach via two quarter-turn fasteners. They have been designed to be free-standing and are fully sealed.

2008 Triumph Daytona 675

As the first three-cylinder super sports middleweight, the Daytona 675 is a force to be reckoned with in the most hotly contested arena in motorcycling. The Daytona 675 has won countless comparison tests and for the past two years has taken both the MasterBike and Supertest 'King of the Supersport' crowns. With its exciting, powerful engine and intuitive, razor sharp chassis the Daytona 675 has reinvented the supersports middleweight map. The Daytona IS incomparable.

The Daytona 675's 675cc, water-cooled, three cylinder, 12-valve power unit is extremely compact, featuring a Keihin fuel injection system and a stacked six-speed close ratio gearbox. Peak power of 123bhp is delivered at 12500rpm, with 53ft.lbf torque at 11750rpm. While the Daytona 675's engine is refined, the triple's innate character remains with typical Triumph toughness engineered all the way through.

Of course it can be compared to many motorcycles - and on such occasions invariably comes out on top, but in one single stroke it's redefined just how a middleweight sports bike should look and feel. If the Daytona 675's unique DNA is a large part of its appeal, its stunning performance is the winning flourish.

2007 Triumph Tiger

2007 is a big year for Tiger fans with the release of the brand new Triumph Tiger 1050, a major evolutionary step in the model's history.

While its sharp lines and performance spec make the Tiger's sporting credentials clear from a glance, its stunning looks hide a practical streak: Take a Tiger two-up touring way off into the wilds and you've got a bike that comfortably devours miles of tarmac. The relaxed riding position, spacious seat, supple suspension and tractable torquey engine guarantee you arrive fresh at the end of the longest day.

At the new Tiger's heart is the amazing 1050cc, fuel-injected, three-cylinder engine. This motor, known for its addictive character, has plenty of torque and impressive amounts of horsepower, with ample reserves of both for those two-up fully laden tours. Peak power of 114bhp is delivered at 9400rpm, with 74ft.lbf torque at 6250rpm.

It has all the all-round practicality and comfort of the old Tiger - a broad, supportive seat for rider and pillion, relaxed ergonomics and efficient half fairing and screen - but also a composure and sporting ability that few, if any, will be able to match.

The twin-spar aluminum frame housing the 1050cc engine is new as is the braced aluminum swingarm. New too are the cast aluminum wheels, both are now 17in allowing a wider choice of tires; the front tire's a 120/70 ZR17, the rear a 180/55 ZR17. The 43mm upside down fully adjustable forks and remote spring preload and rebound damping adjustable rear shock provide an almost magic carpet-like ride over the most varied of surfaces, from the roughest Tarmac to the smoothest blacktop asphalt. Twin four-piston radial calipers bite 320mm front discs, the rear 255mm disc uses a single twin-piston caliper. The Tiger's seat height is a manageable 835mm (32.9in), matched to a dry weight of 416lbs. Fuel capacity is 5.2 gal, giving an excellent touring range.

Supremely comfortable, two-up tourer; sporty solo funster or sleek, stylish city bike: There are very few genuine all-round motorcycles in existence - the Tiger is most certainly one of them.

2007 Triumph Bonneville

A true roadster in every sense of the word, the Bonneville matches classic British style to 21st century technology. This pairing of authenticity with modernity has led the Bonneville to become an icon in its own right; world famous designer Paul Smith personally designed a signature series of Bonnies, with accessories to match. Our sixty8 range, which includes hand crafted laptop bags, iPod holders and a series of unique custom-painted tank covers, are all useful and stylish additions.

For 2007 the Bonneville has an increased engine size of 865cc. This latest model also comes with a black engine and polished, lacquered engine covers and a span adjustment clutch lever.

The Bonneville has excellent road manners and great agility in jammed city streets. The Bonneville's road holding, handling and stopping ability is crisp, composed and confidence inspiring. The braking set-up of single front 310mm disc and 255mm rear, both worked on by powerful twin-piston calipers offers sensitivity and control.

The Bonneville's a great way to cover the urban landscape and equally at home blatting down a leafy country lane on a Sunday ride out.

2007 Triumph Scrambler

The Scrambler is a redefinition of the off-road machines made famous by 60's thrill seekers such as Steve McQueen. Very few motorcycles can claim to be unique but the Scrambler, thanks to its authentic styling, is most certainly one of them. The flat seat, small headlight and single, round-faced speedometer mark its difference, likewise the pair of high-level exhaust pipes, each wearing an evocative heat shield.

The Scrambler's 865cc, DOHC, parallel twin-cylinder, eight-valve, air-cooled engine uses a 270° crank firing interval for a characterful and torquey power delivery. Using a strong tubular steel cradle frame and supple suspension front and rear - 41mm telescopic forks and twin chromed spring preload-adjustable rear shocks - the Scrambler is built tough, to iron out the bumps.

Fittingly for such an individual machine, a whole range of Triumph factory accessories are available for the Scrambler, all of which enhance its looks as well as adding functionality. They include a bash plate to protect the underneath of the engine, headlamp grille, number boards for the sides, tachometer, handlebar brace and a single seat and rack.

The Scrambler has a distinct look, feel and personality all its own. It offers iconic style, genuine usability. You get on some bikes and you feel like you're on public transport. You get on a Scrambler, you feel like you're on holiday.

For a middle weight sports bike the Daytona 675 certainly is a nice machine. Sharp looks, impressive 123 bhp and winning race history. I think it would make a desirable motorcycle to own. Sometimes and myself included we get to much engine capacity and on must roads can only run to 3rd gear. This looks like a great fun commutor and weekend track bike. Motorcycle accessories

For Some There's Therapy, For The Rest Of Us There's Motorcycles
For some there's therapy, for the rest of us there's motorcycles. Sometimes the best way escape reality a little bit to relax, unwind, think about life is to hop on our motorcycle and head for the open road weather its through the twisties of a canyon or mountain or the open desert highway. The freedom and peace of being at one with a machine and the open road is therapy that is almost unequalled by anything else.
