Trucking Insurance
MCS-90 Endorsement
One of the FMCSA requirements is that your insurance policy has at least a minimum of specific limits on the amount of coverage. However, if you have been given the endorsement from your insurance provider this is not a guarantee that you have the correct limits on your insurance policy. Not your insurance provider but you, as the insured, are responsible to make certain that you have these requirements met.
Expenses, related to injury or death resulting from an accident, are not the responsibility of your insurance provider by simply having an MCS-90 Endorsement. You should also understand that this attachment does not provide coverage for your cargo.
There may be various types of insurance coverage included in your trucking insurance policy. Be certain that you understand what each of these types pay for, and how each type relates to your MCS-90 Endorsement.
It should be a top priority for you to understand what your policy will cover in an accident. If you wait to do so after the accident this will only cause you more stress in addition to the anxiety associated with the accident itself.
If you don't understand your policy and need some help an insurance broker could be your best option. They work with many different forms of insurance coverage and will be well-informed in regards to trucking insurance and all the options available.
