What do you know?

From the lens Truth about Barack Obama.

Opinions are OK, I suppose, but without facts to back them up, and some minimum level of rational articulation, they really aren't worth very much.

Thanks for setting things straight, it is important, especially today 11/5/08! *****

Thank you for the article. It shows very good analysis, and is organized and well-written. And, it cites (reputable) sources. NOTE TO RETORTERS: These are the qualities that make what Mr. Fox says credible!! Don't bother posting a response if you can't provide credible evidence and especially if you can't write for a damn! Like it says at the beginning of the comment section, "without facts to back them up, and some minimum level of RATIONAL articulation, they [opinions] really aren't worth very much."

Oh, and by the bye, "pookie," it's actually YOU who misspelled Moslem/Muslin. I quote from the New Oxford American Dictionary:

    Moslem |%u02C8mäzl%u0259m; %u02C8mäs-|
    noun & adjective
    variant spelling of Muslim.

USAGE Muslim is the preferred term for 'follower of Islam,' although Moslem is also widely used.

But, what do you expect from an uninformed mark who just blindly accepts everything he or she is told by the ultra-conservative right, without bothering to investigate it for him/herself?

For what it's worth, I dread the idea of Obama, Clinton or McCain winning the white house. However, it appears those will be the choices (Personally I'll vote Libertarian). The debates should be on the basis of facts though, not slander and innuendo and for that I give this lens 5 stars.

Great lens. This is distortion-free clarification which I appreciate. The poster "Barb" really is off-the-wall with her "voting present" comment. Voting "present" in the context of Illinois state politics has a clear meaning, which she would do well to look up.

Thank you for your clear writing on Sen. Obama. If more people would take the time to learn about Obama we would have less hysterics floating about and led by Hillary and Bill Clinton - of all people. There's no shame in their game! Sen. Obama has the temperament to lead this country and to use judgments wisely with his planned "nerd" team of advisors. We can't not be stuck in yesteryear's politics or the U.S. will never make headway into the international world. We must learn by our mistakes, but not be afraid to take CHANGE by the hand and be a positive force in doing so.

We will not let the tainted 90's of the Clinton era revisit the White House! Never again!

12% of sales to walmart is a very substantial sales percentage.

There may be some deceit being thrown around by Clinton associates (or perhaps some plants within her ranks?). But things like Obama's 2-facing on NAFTA while in Ohio, his 20 year mentorship by a racist, his being endorsed by the (racist) New Black Panthre Party, and the choruses of praise raining down on him from the Communist Party, USA's official website still clearly show that Barack Obama is not the right choice for America(Much like Hillary, and kind of like McCain).

Barb " . . . . it's Obama's history of voting "present" in Springfield - even on some of the most controversial and politically explosive issues of the day - that raises questions that he will need to answer . . . ."

Hey, Barb. Read the damn lens.

    :-P

While some conservatives and Republicans surely will harp on what they call his "liberal record," highlighting applicable votes to support their case, it's Obama's history of voting "present" in Springfield - even on some of the most controversial and politically explosive issues of the day - that raises questions that he will need to answer. Voting "present" is one of three options in the Illinois Legislature (along with "yes" and "no"), but it's almost never an option for the occupant of the Oval Office.

We aren't talking about a "present" vote on whether to name a state office building after a deceased state official, but rather about votes that reflect an officeholder's core values.

For example, in 1997, Obama voted "present" on two bills (HB 382 and SB 230) that would have prohibited a procedure often referred to as partial birth abortion. He also voted "present" on SB 71, which lowered the first offense of carrying a concealed weapon from a felony to a misdemeanor and raised th

Just another empty suit with the former Martin Luther King and President John F. Kennedy's dream! It is obvious that both the Obama's, live in a "black/white" world. Take a look at her senior thesis, their long-time relationship with Mr. Wright whose domments for many sermons I find not only distasteful but anti-American, the odd marriage of developer Rezko in a land-buying deal in Chicago, Obama's affirmative action stint in Chicago. Yes, granted I will give him kudos for being a smooooooth talker, however; he has no substance to back it up. Someone who merely "introduces bills" and votes "present" on bills when he is not campaigning leaves alot to be desired. Frankly it is disheartening to me to allow someone with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE attempt to secure the position of Commander in Chief of the free world. I would no sooner use the service of a surgeon who had no "hands-on" in the OR as a vote for Obama! Is this the best we have to offer for America.

    Excellent lens tomwfox, 5 stars.

    PollieSigh,
As I commented on your lens, which requires your approval to post, your arguments against Obama are at best misinformed and factually inaccurate, not to mention racist. For example: your Michelle Malkin quote about Obama voters. While you fail to support your claim that Obama is "frightening" with anything of substance--other than a reference to his middle name Hussein.

    Polliesigh -

You know, I've been thinking about your sheep in wolf's clothing comment for a few weeks now. Although I don't have any doubt that you are terrified by a lot of different things in life, the reasons you've given in your Squidoo lens about Barack Obama for being afraid of him are downright silly.
  • tomwfox Mar 11, 2008 @ 2:39 pm | delete
mbuck, here are two points for you to ponder:

    1. Tony Rezko contributed the maximum amount allowed by law to President Bush's re-election campaign in 2004. There's a connection for you to chew on.

    2. Your remark about the effect of Obama wearing a traditional Kenyan costume upon the families of those who died on 9/11 might carry some weight if you can find some actual families of 9/11 victims that go along with your assessment, but I doubt that you can.
  • mbuck Mar 11, 2008 @ 8:53 am | delete
I think you ought to read what you write and think about it. Rezko buying the lot next door? No connection???

Your private eye instincts are poor. His wearing of the traditional garb was in "poor" taste to those who lost loved ones in the Towers, our fighting military and to the American public as well. And as for his wife, she is NOT First Lady material when she makes that poor statement about being the first time she was "really, really, really proud to be an American". That was not a statement from some eighth grader, but a woman with a PhD. No thanks. Again, a smack at those of us who lived and remember Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq. They deserve one another but not in the White House.
  • tomwfox Mar 3, 2008 @ 2:31 pm | delete
Nope, "pookie," you've got that wrong. I'm just old bald white guy who can't spell, with no connection to the Obama campaign.
  • pookie Mar 3, 2008 @ 11:42 am | delete
This page has to be supported by Obama's party. Or its just an African American who is doing everything to get him into office, even lie. By the way, you misspelled Moslim. Its Muslim. But what do you expect from an Obama supporter.

Obviously not a reliable source as you decide what you want to make true and false. I found a lot of what you claim to be false, true. Obama admitted to it in his book Dreams From My Father.'

People don't be gullible. Look to the authenticty of those giving a true and false write up.
  • PollieSigh Feb 25, 2008 @ 7:42 am | delete
Obama is very scary. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Don't get "sucked in", America. Before you go out and vote, GET INFORMED to the truth!

As readers, we want to know facts. Not just write ups and hearsays about the person. Just to be fair. We know the real personality of these persons.

Great job on your lens. I like Obama, I'm just not so sure any President no matter who it is can fix everything that is wrong with our country. But I do know that what is right with our country is 'the people'. We the people have more power than we use and it's time to start using it. Please read my lens No North American Union! Thanks!
