Themes are beautifully designed "skins" that Squidoo lensmasters can add to their lenses. Think of it like a fresh coat of paint for your page, or a fun way to express yourself.


Squidoo currently has 26 themes ranging from the ultra elegant New Yorker to sporty Paintball to our foody theme Munch that was dreamed up by Tandemonimom as part of our lensmaster design theme contest.

Along with color and style themes, we also have a hugely popular collection of seasonal and holiday themes for Thanksgiving, the winter holidays, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, spring, summer, and on and on!

How to change your theme: You can select a different theme for each lens in your collection, or use the same theme across all your lenses. Just edit the lens, look in the sidebar for a tool called: "Pick a theme. Express Yourself!" and select your favorite. Apply it to the lens and presto! A magically delicious new look and feel for your lens.

If you don't pick a unique theme, your lens will default to looking like the lens you're reading right now.

Important: Some themes are special and only unlock at a higher SquidLevel, so you might not see all 25 themes in your collection if you are brand new to Squidoo.

Algae Theme

This blue-hued underwater theme looks gorgeous with home decor and crafty lenses. The aqua font follows your reader through the entire lens and is as tranquil as a tropical beach.

Big Lucid Theme

This big bad theme is bold and fun.

Big Squid

This theme is for people who just love that orange squid. It looks super artsy and can be used on just about any lens type. The giant squid eye looks really retro. It's designed to call some serious attention to your lens title: see how the eye follows yo

Blueprint

This elegant, artsy theme evokes thoughts of travel, scientific discovery and creativity. Use for education, how-to and mysterious destination lenses. Or whatever else suits you.

Clouds

Clouds combines the traditional Squidoo blue and orange colors with a retro touch. Groovy!

Highlighter

Grab your yellow highlighter and follow me! This theme is both scholastic and cool. Use it for educational lenses, scientific lenses or any type of lens that needs an extra shout out.

Moment of Zen

Ah...tranquility. This is a peaceful soothing design.

Movies

Make your lens a headliner with this star studded theme. A great complement to movie, music and theatre lenses.

Munch!

One of our lensmasters came up with this idea for our 25th lens theme design contest. Her foody design idea was picked from a large pool of entries and with some help from our superstar designer Josh went on to become our newest theme.

Purple People Eater

Whoa Nelly, this theme is PURPLE! If you're looking for a bright and fun theme you've come to the right place. Use it on your most passionate (purple) lenses.

Squid Grid

A new take on our most popular theme, the trusty standard blue Squidoo theme. This one is updated with a new logo and header.

The Professor

Blocky orange text compliments the black background. A straight "A" theme design!

New York

This is a clean, classy theme inspired by the NYT. It's a serious but uplifting design. The white space and clean black fonts lends your content an air of sophistication.

Thanksgiving

Show off your Thanksgiving traditions, turkey recipes and Fall favorites with this beautiful burnt orange design.

Christmas

Celebrate Christmas with a cute treed theme lens with red holiday accents.

Winter Holiday

You'll want to add your lenses about snowmen, sledding and snowday activities to this wintery theme.

Valentine's

Love is in the air! Use this heart thumping theme for Valentine's Day lenses, love and heart felt tributes.

Gone Camping

This artsy outdoorsy theme can be used for lenses that are crafty, eco friendly and fun.

Paintball

Splat! Paintball is a super cool theme for sports, art and home decor. It's got flash and style!

Easy Street

Classy, stylish and elegant. Use Easy Street for your best wedding lenses.

Easter

Here's comes Peter Cotton Tail hopping down the bunny trail...well you get the picture. Use this lens for all your Easter lenses.

Spring

Spring is the Easter theme without the eggs and perfect for Spring recipes, crafts and home decor.

St. Paddy's

May the Luck 'O the Irish be with you. Use this theme for all your St. Patrick Day celebration lenses.

Patriotic

This red, white and blue theme is called Patriotic and is perfect for your Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, election and patriotic lenses.

Bubblegum

Yes, it's pink. A fun seasonal pick for lenses that are also topically sweet and light. Just be sure to keep the rest of your lens clean in style and deep in content, or else the bubblegum loses its flavor fast.

    To be honest, it makes me sad that there is not a music theme as I make lots of music lenses. I think a music theme would be awesome.

    Not possible to pick one favorite - so many cool themes for special occasions, holidays etc. Algae and Moment of Zen would be two of my favorite general themes ;)

    I love using the different themes because I write on different subjects and I pick a theme to suit the topic of my lens. I think that works well and sort of lets you brand your lenses.

    Thanks so much for making this lens! I have it bookmarked and come here whenever I want to choose one. I often use "Gone Camping" whenever I do an ecological theme. You can see one on building your own straw bale house.

    I like the purple people eater theme best, Career Wear for Professional Women ! I wish there was a Halloween theme, though. I always have trouble trying to get to Squid Boo for my Halloween lenses.
