Jethro Tulls Highest Charting Albums
Two Number 1 albums, each with only one song....
I'm fairly sure that Jethro Tull is unique in the wide world of Rockdom in having two chart topping albums of one song per album.
Both Jethro Tull Albums that reached #1 on US music charts were double sided LPs with only one song!
Thick As A Brick was released in 1972 with only one song on the LP also titled Thick as a Brick. This album/song totaled over 43 minutes! It eventually rose to number one in the US and number 5 in the UK charts.
Passion Play , released the following year in 1973, was essentially one track as well. It is a continuously running track lasting over 48 minutes but can also be broken down into 16 smaller medleys. It rose to #1 in the us but peaked out at #13 in the UK.

- I Like the live version of thick as a brick, it's only about 13 minutes i think , but they really have a jazzy feel on that version, I think it's on Live Bursting out. songs from the wood is their most underrated album in my opinion.

- Ian Anderson inspired me to continue playing the flute even though it wasn't cool. I fell in love with the band because it had amazing flute music in the wonderfully rebellious rock of the 70's. Thanks for a trip down memory lane!
