The Westin Turnberry Resort is a golf-centred resort on the Atlantic Coast of Scotland. It is located in South Ayrshire, and comprises three links golf courses, a golf academy, a five-star hotel built in 1906, as well as lodge and cottage accommodation.

The hotel was bought by Starwood Lodging in 1997, and is operated under their Westin brand. It is also a member of The Leading Hotels of the World group, which represents some of the world's finest hotels and resorts. In May 2008, Leisurecorp, Dubai World's sport and leisure subsidiary, announced their intention to purchase the resort, with Starwood Hotels & Resorts continuing to manage operations.

The Three Courses at Turnberry

The Ailsa Course, redesigned by Mackenzie Ross between 1949 and 1951, has staged The Open Championship on three occasions. In 1977, the course was the scene of the famous "duel in the sun", when Tom Watson claimed victory ahead of Jack Nicklaus. Greg Norman claimed his first major title at Turnberry in 1986, and Nick Price his second in 1994. The course is next scheduled to host the Open in 2009.

The Ailsa Course has also hosted many other important golf tournaments, including the Women's British Open in 2002, the Walker Cup in 1963, and the Senior Open Championship on six occasions, 1987-1990, 2003 and 2006.

The other two courses at Turnberry are the Kintyre Course, another championship standard course that has hosted final qualifying for The Open, and the nine hole Arran Course. The Kintyre Course, opened in 2001, was designed by Donald Steel and built on the foundations of the old Arran layout, which had been rebuilt along with the Ailsa Course following World War II, when the courses had been used as an airfield. The new Arran Course opened in 2002.

Other golf facilities at the resort include the Colin Montgomerie Links Golf Academy, and a pitch and putt course.
